Hey guys A buddy of mine with a franken-tele just put in a coil tapped SD Antiquity in the neck position, and it really smokes. My main guitar is a '69 RI Tele (semi-hollow) with the stock pickups, and I'd to do the same, swap out the neck p'up and have a tapped HB installed. Any other p'up suggestions to take a look at for this? Thanks!
*edit to get the pickup name right

Isn't the '69 reissue rather expensive?
Perhaps you could pick up a MIM tele and put the HB in that?

I have a Duncan Li'l '59 in the bridge of an ol' 'biscuit board' tele of mine that weighs a ton... Don't sound much like a tele, but its a GREAT Les Paul! Really a neat little pickup if you're not lookin' for the traditional...

+1 on the 'lil '59 Tele bridge from Duncan...if you heard some early ZZ Top played with one of thesae you'd swear it was played on a Lester...not so cool clean or split IMO, but with a lil dirt Great.

The '69 price wasn't that bad, I've had it for 7 or 8 years, and it's really my go-to guitar. I'm not much of a traditionalist - I mean, I run my mandolin through my effects board with my normal band, kind of a U2 meets Nickel Creek kind of vibe. I've already swapped out the stock bridge for a compensated 3 saddle & a LP stlye jack plate, so I really don't have reservations about losing the '69 "vibe". For me it's all about the semi-hollow body and the maple nack. But I did really like the vibe of my friend's tapped HB, it being something to give a little more grit. He actually put a bridge p'up in the neck for some higher output, but that was a bit too much for my personal taste. I took a look at the Fralin website this morning, they have some split HB's available. Has anyone here played those?
