This comes up about every other week on just about every forum I frequent: "What's the best guitar cord?" As they say, opinions vary. But one guy with a technical slant decided to do some computer modelling of the circuits involved and has put up a web page with his findings. And I found it fascinating! Check it out: terrydownsmusic.com/technotes/guitarcables/guitarcables.htmI'm not sure how this is going to affect what I do here yet, but it sure helps to understand what's going on!

Terry can get over my head pretty quick with all that technical talk...it still makes for interesting reading though!

Here is another question - what is the best guitar chord? Eb in first position...

I started to read that but my eyes glazed over and I drifted away to a land where there was only quiet drummers, bass players that don't slap, singers that help carry the gear, horn players that play in tune and keyboard players that don't want to use every sound in their synth just because they're there. When I snapped out of it I decided my George Ls were fine! ( I just mean it was too technical for me)

I have to agree. A is a great chord.

B, because it leads eventually to E.

I like D in 1st position without the 3rd. As a matter of fact, I like lots of chords without the 3rd.
Eb in ist position IS pretty fantastic, though...

E is tired. Give it a rest.

My band plays an old standard, Moonlight In Vermont. My favorite chord in that tune is E flat 7/9/sharp 11. It's fun to play over.

Are we talking about guitar "cables" or a chord played on a guitar?

Are we talking about guitar "cables" or a chord played on a guitar? It would seem, both!

I didn't start it! But I am easily led astray.
