I'm thinking about picking up one of the Agile LP copies...Just curious if anyone has/had one...
Look, I'm not going to buy into whole "just as good as a custom shop Gibson" thing....I know better than that. But I'm thinking about picking up a solid little LP for banging around and using on club gigs, etc. I'm too damn broke to be in the market for a GOOD Lester right now... :oAnd am basically just looking for something to get me by until I can save up some money to buy what I want...(as in, something I will actually keep! LOL)
I'm looking at the 3000 model... Looks like it has a great combination of features & price...And at $369 I guarantee it's got more "bang for the buck" potential than an Epi Standard (yuck!)... At least the Agile 3000 uses real woods & hardware, and with a good setup might be just the ticket for a cheap, decent Paul.
Opinions?

I have seen lots of posts on other sites praising the Agile stuff. I would love to have a Les Paul, but they are so dang expensive! Anybody here have one of the Agiles?

Dang it! You got me looking at the Rondo/Agile website and now I'm jonesing for one of those. That 3000 series looks good. I wonder how the pickups sound? The gold top with PAF's looks cool also.

Well.. I bit the bullet and ordered one. They have a 30 day return policy, but if it's close to what everyone says, I think it will be a neat little bang-for-buck axe- With a case & shipping it ended up being right around 4 & a half... AT least on paper, it kicks an Epi LP standard's a$$. I got the root beer finish, here: www.rondomusic.net/al3000prest.htmlThey also have a pretty neat little spec-sheet that compares the different Agile models: www.rondomusic.net/alspec.htmlCrossing my fingers that it will be cool and not a total P.O.S. We'll see- J

The info talks the talk. I hope it's not really 10 pounds, though. It's always fun to think about how much music a guy can make with what little money. I always think about David Lindley using Teisco Del Reys and Silvertones. Worked for him and I'll bet the Agile is a way better instrument than those were. I've got a few Teiscos and Danos and they really aren't much.

Congrats J, I'm keen to hear your professional opinion on this one.
I made a remark in a thread somewhere a while back talking about a decent inexpensive guitar to try some P90s in - maybe the Agile is where I should be looking! Great...more GAS?

I have the semi hollow AL2800 (discontinued). FOr $300 i did get my moneys worth, stays in tune, setup is nice out of the box, finish is fine. The $60 hardshell case is nice too. No problems to report in the 5 months since i received it. These are the views of a bedroom player, I don't gig.

I was reading the specs of Agile's Alnico V 'buckers, and it looks like they modeled them after something along the lines of a Duncan '59 or Seth Lover. They might sound fine...But we'll see- In fact I think they have even offered the Duncans on some of the 3500 models.

Cool stuff alright. The Stop tail got my attention too. I think they missed the boat though, I'd call it Shark Tail myself, dum dum.....dum dum ....dum dum dum dum dum dum. Just seems right, not to mention obvious. Never tried P90s, hear their grittier, but anything else to them?

Not a LOT of experiance with P-90's, BUT, perhaps THE BEST neck position pup ever invented I've gotta get one of those for the $$$ if nuthin' else I'll raise the action and use it for slide.....I'm pretty traditional in my guit taste's, but that thing just killed me.... 2 Kewl !
