Want some great handwound humbuckers, made in Canada, for cheap? I have been looking around for a while (wanted WCR but the wait and the price were a bit high) and finally found a guy in Hamilton who will custom wind P90's and humbuckers, as well as do rewinds. I had him make me up a set (7.8K A2 neck, 9K A5 bridge), unpotted with gold covers. He will do anything you want. They are FANTASTIC. Excellent sound, excellent workmanship. Far better clean sound, balanced mids, no mud in the neck position (compared to the stock Gibsons). Very similar to the lollars that I have in my SG, and love. Now the best part: about $200 canadian a pair delivered. Here's his site: tonefordays.com/Sorry to gush, but these are an excellent product.

I'll hold onto that link. Don't need them right now (Gass'n for other stuff first). I lived in Hamilton for a couple of years. ...went to Mac and was a great time in my life.

Hey Zdogma,
Thanks for turning me onto Jon at tonefordays. We've been communicating back and forth for about two weeks now. Finally placed my order today for a pair of his hand wound ,mismatched humbuckers with coil tap. I've asked him to wind them so their nice warm and vintage sounding. Should be pretty sweet in my Asian tele, which presently has a couple of hotter type buckers ( only one of which has a coil tap). Hoping it will sweeten it up some as well as making it more open and complex sounding. If it all works out, that ole Maz is going to get a just and fitting gee-tar to go along with it. +1

Us Canucks gotta stick together like.....like Maple Syrup on a flapjack. I'm sure y'all know the story of how that great country of the North American continent got its name...three of the earliest pioneers, all from different provinces, drew random letters out of a hat: "C", eh? "N",eh? "D",eh?

Thanks for the link , only about an hour away from me . I hope he starts doing singles as I would like to put something a bit more aggressive in the neck position of my 52 Tele RI and it would be nice to have it custom done to an agreed spec .

Congrats on the set of tonefordays pickups. I've had my set in for a couple of weeks now and i still can't put the guitar down. Jon was very helpful and in the end, provided me with exactly what i asked for; i nice set of vintage pickups that sounded open and complex. Took a little longer than i would have liked (several weeks), but in the end it was worth the wait. With my tele sounding so vintage now, it cured me of my strat gas for the time being. ;D

Very glad to hear they worked out for you ;D.
I've been really pleased with my set. A bit microphonic on very high gain (unpotted, you know), but the tone is excellent.
