Is it pretty easy to wire up a coil tap on a SD Cool Rails? I have one in the bridge position of my Strat, adn I'm thinking it would sound pretty sweet through the Z with it being tapped.
I know there was an extra wire thingy that my friend who installed it for me tucked inside the guitar and stated is used for tapping. He didn't set up the tap at the time of install, but I'm thinking I should have.
Any thoughts?

You can wire that pickup (or most any side by side or stacked coil humbucker) in one of 3 ways: series, split, or parallel. It sounds like yours is wired in series. I have never found much use for the parallel setup, but the coil split setup which cuts one of the coils, and makes it a true single coil (with noise), is very useful. On my Anderson, splitting the over/under pickups in the neck/middle postion actually makes it a little louder and fuller with more high end sparkle. Hope this helps!

Thanks hdahs! Yes that helps... I think I'm going to have that done. I realized out of my three electrics, I really don't have a true single coil guitar. I'm sure the Z would just love a nice single coil to get all spanky and twangy on.
