Very informative look as to what was going on. Glad someone took the time to put this together. This is coming from someone born in the fall of 1973. I think that was pretty much close to the end of the war, but I never really knew much about it. So it has been an interesting watch.

I would have liked to see it, i'll do a search and it will probably be on again. back then I never really knew what was going on, there were a lot less tv channels, and pundits etc. My father and uncles were all WWII guys and so, I was 19 in '65, drafted, and never a question of what i would do. I was drafted with 30 guys from my high school graduating class and we were on our way. Two of us ended up going to OCS and flight school en-route, and i got there in '68.
Put a major speed bump in my musical development, there were bands in a lot of bars many opportunities to play, and no such thing as DJ's for weddings and barmitspha, and anniversaries, played a lot these etc. I went from playing 3 nights a week to not playing. i didn't play while i was over there but i listened to the Armed Forces Network, Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, Janis, jimi, clapton, and Wes, Barney.
Remember there were no IPODs, cassettes etc. 45's, 33 1/3, 8 tracks, and reel to reel, i still have my akai.
From 9 AM to 1200 country, from 1200 to 1500 rock and roll, and so on. One station and it covered all the music. One guy had an old tv, the radio guy hooked up an antenna, the high light of the day, if you were around, was watching the weather girl.

^^ Thanks for your service.
My dad was in Vietnam. He dont say much about it and avoids any conversations about it. I dont prod. But that show said what he didnt. Ive watched most of the epsodes twice at least. So it will be on again.
Crazy stuff man.
The one where there is a load of troops in a big plane..... intense. The captian of the plane tells them that there is heavy fire in the landing area.... so he cant stop... they el have to bail out. Freaking nuts. The plane drops into what looks like hell on earth and down comes the back "tail gate". The look on thoses brave guys faces sent home a message. And out they went.

I was Air Force and although I was in country I never had to go in the bush. That was fine with me. It's an eye-opener for a 19 year-old. I respect anyone who has served. No matter where or when.
