Got the new Maz 38 Reverb 1x12 and decided to write a song to celebrate the 2011 Milwaukee Brewers and their Beast Mode. Just a fun sort of tune. So introduced it to the guys on 11 am Monday and wrapped it up by the time I had to pick-up the kids from school. Ended getting some press in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (and a few other outlets) and the local CBS News. Kind of took off here locally with 3,000 plays happening in just 2 days. Just a Lentz SSL, cable, and amp and using the volume knob thingy on the guitar!

Guitar sounds good! Nice tone and funk there. Don't care for the tune much (have no idea what beast mode in the house means) but that is cool that you got some AirPlay.

Sean - The tune is a departure from our usual funk, blues, soul sound. But hey, sometimes you gotta write something different. It is about the Brewers Beast Mode celebration which originated from Prince Fielder's kids who love Monsters Inc and Sully doing his beast mode scare. Just lined up a live TV appearance for Monday if the Brewers win one of the next two games. Might have to bring the Maz Jr for that set.

JD, I still can't figure out what the Brewers "Beast Mode" is? Can you explain. A lot of us Card fans can't seem to figure it out. Nice win last night...

Well it is now a moot point (problems with writing a song like and then the team loses) - congrats to the Cardinals. Here is some history on Beast Mode and the Beast Mode celebration - The Brewers have debuted a new celebration on the field. After players get big hits, they turn to the dugout with their arms spread out as if they’re scaring someone. Nyjer Morgan calls the celebration “beast mode,” while Prince Fielder explained that it comes from the movie Monsters Inc.
“That’s my kids’ favorite movie,” Prince told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “The whole team does it now. It’s something that I saw my kids do, and I thought it was funny, so I thought I might as well do it, too.” - Larry Brown Sports

Ah gotcha! Thanks for the history! Now I can sort of see the resemblence. Although, I'm surprised that anything Nyjer Morgan says sticks. Although entertaining, he's a rat. IMHO
We'll see ya next year, Brewers!
