I have a Z Wreck (Quantum Silver). To get it I had a clear out and sold the following amps:
Mesa Boogie Lonestar 112 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe (brown tolex edition) 4 Selmer Little Giants Fender Champ 1966 blackface
Do I miss any of these amps? No
Is the Z Wreck better? Absolutely!

I totally understand the 'never sell anything' approach. I certainly am like that with guitars. But I found I was in a situation where I had so many amps that just the general upkeep/maintenance was becoming a mammoth problem. Having a lot of old amps I found that constantly having issues with tubes and capacitors etc was becoming a hassle. So I decided it was time to let something go.
I'm so pleased with my Z Wreck that I have decided to move more of my old amps on to get a Maz. I haven't decided yet whether it will be an 8 or an 18. I had decided to get an 18 then Dr Z came out with the 8. So now I have a dilemma!
At the moment I'm leaning towards the 8 because I think it will be ideal for home use and smaller gigs. I just want to be sure I can get all the tone of an 18 with it so if anyone out there has compared the Maz 8 and Maz 18 I would be pleased to hear what you thought.

The 8 has great tone and a very full sound. Don't let the small wattage throw you. I have an 18 and played through an 8 for about twenty minutes at zfest. Great amp.

Yes I've come to realize that now . . . decision made it's a Maz 8 for me, just haven't decided whether to get a combo or a head yet.

Welcome, bigben. You've got good ears The Z Wreck is really something else, even in the Z lineup.

Just played a Z-wreck and had an "Uh-Oh" moment.
As in, Uh-Oh this is the best amp I've ever played and I have to get one.
I haven't had one of those for guitar stuff since 1976 when I first picked up a Gurian.
I won't bore you with the list of amps that I've owned since 1966 but lets just say they would easily fill the garage floor of a double car garage. I'm going to have to move two tube amps to get one but, "Oh Well. bye bye Mesa bye bye Fender." I haven't owned or wanted to own a guitar amp that didn't have reverb since 1968 (Bandmaster) I just wish I could put into words what sounds so "right" about it. Tonally correct, harmonically rich.. can't really say just why but it's just more correct than anything else I've ever played through. Totally redefines what a guitar amp can reveal.
Pt II
Got to play the amp with one of my guitars yesterday for 45 minutes and gave it a comprehensive work out different levels all the way to "I don't play this loud even outdoors any more". Part of the time with a holy grail to see what reverb sounded like and how it acted with a pedal in front.
OK, OK .... I'm sure now...it's the best amp in the world.
Which brings on a bunch of questions: Do I need to own the best amp in the world? Do I need to own the best amp in the world now? Do I want the whole silver deal thing? ( undoubtedly high collector value someday). Do I really want to haul a 2x12 cab everywhere. How would it sound with 2 - single 12 cabs maybe one open back and one thiel? Maybe the open back slanted. How about the sound with a single twelve when I'm guitar plus a piano trio thing or solo and both when I'm full crank band thing.
I'm going to noodle on this for a while.
Pt III
Trying to talk myself out of making this move while at the same time getting prices on a slant 1-12 and a straight 1-12 theil cab. That might be a handy definition of conflicted. (Maybe I'll move on this after the 1st of the year?)
Pt IIIa
After a conversation with a friend about this amp etc. I think I have plan A.
Get a Silver edition complete. Also a single 12 cab made to the right width in a theil design. We got some ultra hip weber laying around - might try that in there. Presently 6 to 8 weeks delivery which gives me some time to off load some product. Get the collectability of the full silver deal and use the 2-12 for home / studio occasional "big gig" use the single 12 for everything else.
Pt IV
Every time I play this thing I like it better.
Moving toward acquisition.
