Any one every try using a GZ32 rectifier with the KT? Think it would be safe?

I actuallly have an NOS RCA 5V4 in my KT45. zCetacean is right to be concerned about being able to reach proper bias range. But I was able too get it right at 59% dissipation; but this was with a hard stop on the bias pot. Most would consider this toward the colder side, but right in the middle anyway.
It sounds great to me. The amp is a little spongyer, more compressed and a little dirtier. It's great IMO cause this amp would easily be more powerful than 95% of the gigging populace would need in the full solid state rectified state.
This amps is awesome!

PS. I believe the 5V4 is as low as Doc and Myles recommend going with the KT45.

ZCetacean, yes I did try a 5AR4 and still wanted a little less power so I went to the 5V4. I *think* Doc or Myles recommends against using the 5U4 - don't remember the reason though.
Yes, the KT45 is a unique amp. The more I get to know it and my Z28 the more I'm impressed with this particular design. There are things, like how the EF86 doesn't cave in when hit with an OD or a Distortion pedal that I've not heard in any amp; even compared to my other favorite amps. I've only had it for about a month now and I'm still digging it more and more. Like all great gear that stands out, it's the subtle things that actually end up meaning the most to you.

I've got a couple of NOS 5V4s that I got for another amp (where they are paired), and I might give this a go and see what it sounds like. Really curious And probably better with the Siemens as they are recommended to run under 450 by knostubes.

My 45 is a 2011. I picked it up the day it came from Dr Z to my local dealer about 2 months ago.
And mine has a 9001 output tranny.
PS. Yes, mine came with a solid state rectifier. It now resides in my Z28.
