I am sitting in front of my stack and the Wreck has both switches on and is connected with my Les Paul untouched standing in the guitar stand.I can hear a noise something like a clicking or sizzling (no idea how to describe it better with english words).I can hear this noise always when switching the amp on and already asked myself if it is normal and where it comes from. When I go directly from the guitar into the amp it is not as loud as if there is a pedal like a Marshall Guv'nor between. To describe it a little better : it is almost the same noise that comes from the hot tubes after playing when I go to standby or switch off the monster of.I hope you all have that same noise and if not would like to know where it comes from

ok,looks like I found the answer and my attenuator is guilty...at the end it is clear that when I go too much into bedroom level the tubes are working pretty hard.Disconnected the power brake and the result is - silence :-)

Just curious: What kind of attenuator are you using?

I knew this question will follow... I built a airbrake clone after the original specs but it was still to loud and I went with one resistor value higher. It was working fine but now I know the reason for the strange noise...and I found another thing today : when the treble knob goes over 3 o' clock the sound goes horrible and I have whistling and feedback in my speakers.I threw the power brake out of the chain and it is fine now.Time to buy another attenuator...

Yeah, sounds like you should give the Doc's Brake Lite or Airbrake a try. They are pretty great if you ask me.

What Steve said. Air Brake works great with my Wreck. I'm sure the Brake Lite would be fine too. Just happened to have the AB near me when I set it up.

I can hear this noise always when switching the amp on and already asked myself if it is normal and where it comes from. When you switch the amp on you will hear a 'clicking noise' as the tubes are warming up, and then again when you switch off as they cool down. Is this the sound you are referring to or does it continue throughout use of the amp? I love hearing that clicking sound when I turn my Z Wreck on!!!
