Hi all,
Got my first Z tonight. A brand new black Ghia. Later this weekend after I've played it more I'll write something long and fun, but for now, I have a question. Let's say I'm going to be playing for the better part of 5 or 6 hours. When I stop playing for 15 minutes or a half hour, is it better for the tubes to turn the amp off and on, or should I just leave it on? I guess what I'm asking is: Which is worse? Turning the Ghia on and off several times in a short span of time, or leaving it on for several hours? Thanks guys.
A very excited and soon to be bleeding from the fingers Seth

Seth you can't go wrong either way.
The Ghia was evolved from a Hammond Reverb amp, it didn't have a power switch let alone a stand-by and sat in the bottom of a B-12 all day on with no ill effects.
Just like a tube stereo turn it on in the morning then off at night.
If your going to return and play in say a half hour just turn the volume full CCW and unplug your guitar. But again, turning off then on a couple of times a day will not harm nor shorten the tubes life any.
FYI I turn mine off when I walk away/stop playing then turn back on if needed.

Congrats on the Ghia man! I usually turn off when I switch guitars. I'll try to take the Doc's advice and just turn down the volume.
