Our fiddle player broke down and attached a pickup/sensor under her bridge, much to the chagrin of her BSU professor, and is starting to play amplified. I don't recall the name of the p'up, it's a nice violin, cost more that a Gibson LP Custom. Sweet tone... It's been a challenge to get the instrument loud enough in the mix with just using a vocal type mic. She played through the ghia last night. WHOA!!! The ghia was singing with such sweet and rich tone! ;D The path was an older digitech multi-effects board using a touch of chorus an acoustic guitar eq then into the ghia pushing an old (really old) openback Hammond ext cab with an alnico rola (SP???) spk. That fiddle tone has been playing in my head all day. We're doing a gig in Tamarack this Sat. night. We all decided rather than go direct she'll play through the ghia again. Should I be this excited over a non guitar instrument, other than a pedal steel?

Alright, I confess; wood, strings, horse hair (bow of course), leather and sequins is something to get excited about. Better than a plateful of hotwings at Hooters. They do dress a bit different in Hollywood compared to Boise.

I do think we have fiddles like that but I've not seen fillies like that! BW can pick em, literally and figuratively. If I were in a gig with 'em I'd be dropping my picks all the time. Umm excuse me but can you get my pick for me? ;D

Hey Drew, I just searched google for 'beautiful women playing violins' or sump'n' like that...Ain't like I got 'em in a 'black book'! They're called BOND and are tearin' it up worldwide! I asked Bill Cooper at American Recording where he found all the beautiful ladies playing string instruments on this 3 Dog Night/London Symphony Orchestra DVD they did a while back, he said, "Ya gotta PAY 'em!" Too funny. (Btw, if you guys didn't click on the link below that photo, it sure is worth yer trouble, trust me...)

It all comes down to money... I missed the link earlier! Impressive, how snobbish of the classical community to ban them becuase they sounded too pop. Obviously they have not heard a violin through a ghia! Hey Drew, I just searched google for 'beautiful women playing violins' or sump'n' like that...Ain't like I got 'em in a 'black book'!
