Hey all, report from Zfest! Next Generation Monza will have a very sweet master volume! Not only did it give some control over the overall volume of the amp it also sounded good too! The brake lite seems to be squirly sounding to me with this amp and the master volume just plan sounds good and you can run the amp down to a whisper! Dr Z said it will probably be available as an add on to the current Monza's. Get ready to ship 'em back and get the mod done, it will be awesome! Todd

Played through it for a bit. The master really does help tone it down, but still keep the tone and grit that makes the monza character.

So glad that a retrofit will be available. Any word where the MV knob will be located? Around in back, maybe, like the Rx Jr?

the Monza head that was a Zfest had the MV located on the rear. Doc said the production model with UL certification will get a new chassis and have the MV located on the front panel, the mod will probably on be on the back panel like the one at Zfest. Can't wait to get it done! Todd

Glad you guys had fun and sorry I couldn't be there to jam with you. Graduation was very nice here for both the graduate and his parents.

Hard to believe this amp didn't come with a MV to begin with, really. It is the loudest "20 watts" I have ever experienced. I love the tone of the Monza, but I had stopped considering it after realizing that I would have limited use for it without a MV. Way to go Dr. Z!

I think a lot of people owned and sold this amp because of the volume control. This should really help out. I'm excited about it

Are we there yet? Are we there yet?!? I want my MMV!!! (think Money for Nothin' on that last phrase). ;D I know, patience, patience. FWIW, my Monza combo (w/BL) is temporarily my only amp and will be for the next 8 months. We sold our current house and are building a new one. SO, the Rem and the Ray are packed away. I miss them, but the good news it means me and the Monza are getting better acquainted. There are really some glorious clean tones in this amp - even with the BL maxed. Yup - I said it! Clean tones - try these settings: BL max, V 9:00, D 11:45, T 12:00 - guitar volume (preferably a neck single coil) between 3.5 and 8. Seriously good tone at not too crazy a volume. Yeah - near 6.5 it starts getting a bit hairy - but it's still stupendous. I actually think I'm rather enjoying being forced into using only one amp for an extended period. And one guitar. And one PT Mini with only a tuner, OD & Delay. Gonna be a fun 8 months!!! Boy, did I ever ramble!
