Just looking to see if anyone has used the Radial Bonehead amp switcher that switches heads and uses one cabinet. To me this seems like the best solution instead of having two cabinets and having to mic two different cabs, but I'm cautious before trying this with my Z Wreck and Maz 18. I was wondering if anyone has used one of these.

I have 4 of them and never had an issue. I use with Remedy/Delta 88; a Z-28 4x10 combo with EZG50; and a Stangray and Maz 38 SR (and with 2 Marshall 100 watt heads). I'm using the with Z-best cab, 1x12 Gold Z Cab, and a 4x12 Marshall 1960 with greenbacks.

If you check, it's called the Headbone (although I like Bonehead ) and I've been using one for quite a long time here. The only time I ever had any issues was when I switched two THD Flexi-50's. Their higher gain apparently caused some problems, but I've never had any issues switching any of my Z amps. In fact, the last couple years I played out I used the Headbone every time. It's a great unit. See my avatar pic for the Remedy/Maz 18 setup using the Headbone.

Mine works great. I've used it with two heads and an ext. cab and with a head and combo amp.
Make sure you get the VT version since you're using tube amps.

You're right Steve it is called the Headbone. Now I feel like a real Bonehead for saying it wrong. Thanks for the info everyone and yes I do understand that I'll need the VT. Looks like I'm going to buy another pedal. After I get the Tonebone Bonehead Headbone, I wonder what I'll have to buy next? Ha!

I know exactly what you'll want - a plain dumb footswitch to plug into the Headbone so you can leave it back by the amps and switch it from your pedal board. Totally rocks!

Steve,
What footswitch did/do you use. I hate changing batteries in the Roland. I tried wiring in a supply but got some hum.. Back to battery... Gotta keep remembering to unplug!!!!

Ed,
Any basic on-off footswitch is fine. I think I used one from a Mesa Boogie last time I hooked up the Headbone. A passive switch, i.e., one that doesn't need a battery, will do.
As Steve said, if you like the Headbone switching, you stick it back with the amps to keep the amp and speaker cable runs short and just locate the footswitch near your other pedals.

I have a Boss footswitch that has an LED - I don't mind changing the battery once in a while. But any footswitch will do if you don't care about an indicator.
