Hey there,
Thanks for the help and direction on this. But i got my new to me ghia head today. Put it on top of my savage 1x12 cab with a gold in it. It's really not broken in yet, but it'll do!
First 30 mins with my PRS Mira. Loved the tones i was getting. Surprised by the amount of chime in the cleans. Like the creamy overdrive. Didn't use any pedals, just went straight in. Definitely different than my Macht 12. I think i am going to like this thing.
Very simple to dial in so far. Kept the volume at 9, 11, and 3 pm. Like it at 11. Tone mostly was at 9 to 10 ish.
I see wanting to put this thing into a combo cab for a great grab and go. It makes me want to obsess over selling my macht12 x and get a Z28 to compliment. Although the macht12 and the Z28 are in the similar tone print, the Z28 just has that percussive ef86 thing going on. That with a greenback is just solid.
I really like the simplicity of this thing. I am a tweaked by nature, but love fewer knobs so I don't obsess over settings etc. Can't wait to try this in my indie band.
Thanks!

Reading through Ghia thread as I consider adding a Ghia to the M12 and Z28. I am wondering if you still have the Ghia and if you now also have a Z28. If so, any compare and contrast info would be appreciated .

Well, as you can see from my profile I own a Ghia 25th head and, among others, a Mesa Lonestar Special. The latter does have volume to spare and a truly godlike tone, but it does put you through it to get there - especially calibrating the second channel. Far from plug and play. The Ghia by contrast is so welcoming; the tone I wanted was there from the start and, although I don't use it often, the master volume on the 25th adds a huge amount of tonal versatility.
So, congrats on the Ghia; you couldn't have chosen better. This is an amp for the history books...

Here i am liking my bro scoring an amp and then I see that somehow we've drug up a post from 2011 Plenty of more recent Ghia news to enjoy. I've had my Ghia for two years now alex2murk and am adding a monza. The best purchase so far in my music life has been my Martin D15 and the Carmen Ghia. Both of them have deeply affected me musically and really helped me to understand what I was looking for. have fun

In 2014 I added a Maz 8 to the Z28 and M12. I have almost added a CG several times. I think this year will be the time!
