New Z-Wreck Heads Announced!: Now you can get the Z-Wreck head in all colors. We have ordered Black, Blonde, Red, and the limited Surf Green! The price is $2699. If you're interested, call us to reserve one, as they will be hard to get for a while.
Dr. Z will still be offering the premium Quantum Silver set as well.
limited surf green would be kinda cool, but I'd still much prefer my Quantum silver....best Z color by far... I'd love to have a surf green Z verb!

I'd love to have a surf green Z verb! That certainly would be an appropriate shade for a reverb unit ;D

Will the quantum silver be available in head version also or are they sold as head and cab package?

No photos yet on the Humbucker site for the additional colors, but the wood fronts will not come standard I assume, just be available as upgrades.

So many amps to choose from Keith

but since i only have combos i'd have to buy a cab as well... I dunno. With the right speakers in one of your cabs, you certainly could just use the Wreck head sitting on top of the combo and use those speakers. Or heck, use a switch and use both! This is not to say that another cab isn't a good idea, but just a thought Ben

playing skills? I mean that I should be a better guitarist to make the best use of the Z Wreck... So should we all. That's how you get better. All Doc's amps are touch sensitive. Personally I noticed the Zwreck was touchy when I first got it. Some of that may have been pre-conceived ideas from reading. I don't notice it anymore. Not like at first. Guess I trust myself more now. Or I've gotten a tad better cause of the wreck.

That's a GREAT observation!! I know I play much better now than I did before I owned a Z amp - they have all MADE me play better because they don't let me hide. My Z28 in particular is a tough drill sergeant, but a fair one - if I step up, it let's me shine ;D

I even wondered if the touch sensitivity of this amp is over rated or have I actually cleaned up my playing - I think it's the latter, or at least I hope! J5

Absolutely agree with these observations. Zs and other fine amps really are part of the whole. You play the amp and the guitar. It is an enabler to help you improve if you're so inclined.
I rehearsed last night at a studio where my only amp option was a solid-state Marshall. Zero, I mean, zero touch sensitivity. And the sound, which was at sufficient volume, just got swallowed up in the mix.

It's interesting that the new Z-Wreck heads have the metal corners and not the finished tolex corners like the silver version.

An interseting note: the no corner cabs cost me more, thats right the extra effort needed to do a perfect no corner match increases the labor cost. Also you have 8 corners to do, mess up one and rip off the tolex and start over. Metal corners cover abit of sloppiness. DR.Z

I just took notice on my z wreck....the corners are perfectly cut...wow

DR.Z Absolutely, makes perfect sense I guess I always used that 'extra' as part of the price premium over all of the other heads BTW, I think it's great that the 'Wreck is being offered as a head only Keith

FYI. I am first on the list at Humbucker Music for a blonde Wreck. The site says mid June, but Jordan said I might be looking at about mid July. It's cool, gives me more time to save gig money, and less I'll have to put on credit, LOL! Mitch
