I am all ready to order my Monza based on demos I have seen on-line and testimonials, then I read the thread on fizz or something that seems amp related, and it gives me pause.
I live in far Eastern NC (coast) and really have a hard time trying one.
Any cause for concern?
Thanks.

I have this fizz artifact going on the tail end of notes(not all)and chords. It gets more prevalent as saturation increases. I've had mine replaced(Excellent CS)and I still have the issue. I have the Monza Head and use cabs/speakers I have. I'm still trying figure it out and to be honest am unsure as to why its there and if its the amp, cab or guitar. My other amp doesn't exhibit the artifact with the same gear as far as I can tell or hear.
Thing is I don't see any other owners complaining of this issue. Makes me think its my gear...maybe something my 2 112's are translating with one amp but not the other. CS replaced the amp on their end and it doesn't seem to have the artifact when they play it. So I haven't figured it out yet. I'm still working it out. In the mean time I have found many sweet spots on the amp and some don't translate the fizz artifact as audibly. So if I don't hear it much...I love the tone I'm getting. The very fact I still have it speaks volumes how much I really do like the tone of the amp. I didn't buy it for clean. I bought it for on the edge of break up to mid gain saturation. It does this beautifully. Again CS is stellar and will take care of any issues separate from abuse of course.

I think the "fizz" is there in the design of the amp. Mine does it too. However, I treat mine more like a high performance car - the more you open it up, the better it performs (i.e., turn down, or preferably off, the Brake Lite). In addition, if you floor it all the time (i.e., you run the knobs on your amp or guitar full throttle), you're also going to have performance issues. I find with the BL, the fizz becomes more prevalent the more you use. I like running mine on 2 (or less if I can get away with it). The more BL you use, the more saturated the tone becomes and therefore has the capacity to produce more fizz. On my guitars, I never have the knobs both on 10 with this amp. Ever. If one of them is wide open, the other is around 3 or 4. I'm personally getting some kicking tones with both knobs at 8 on the fiddle, BL off and the amp at 10:00, 11:45, and 10:00. You HAVE to mess with your guitar knobs a lot to really let this amp thrive, IMO. And man, if you do, and put the time in to really learn the amp, the rewards are SO worth it! BUT, you've got to be willing to do some experimentation and learning. I can make any amp "fizz". The Monza, the amazing and powerful monster that she be, requires a gentle touch and some dedication. YMMV.

I get some strangness when I crank up my brake lite otherwise I have no issues with the amp. When I have the brake lite way up its usually not because I am gigging or recording so I don't really care about it. When I with my band jamming I crank it up and let it roar. hope this helps, Todd

I believe I hear the "fizz" when using the Brake Lite, as others have mentioned. Running without the BL I didn't detect any artifact, but I was running at a fairly low setting of the volume knob. (Btw, with an efficient, clean speaker the Monza has excellent clean(ish) sounds at low V.)
