I'm starting to really get the hang of this amp now. Man, it's a lot more complex than 3 knobs, though! . Everything you touch can really alter the tone. I'm finding it works best for me to dial in the knobs first (I've pretty much settled on 10,12,10), and then Use the Brake Lite as a Master Volume. Once that is done - don't touch the amp again!!! ;D. Seriously, once it's dialed in like that, there is everything on tap at the guitar. Every subtle twist of the volume and tone knob change what you get out a lot. It's awesome! I foresee gigging with this amp, one guitar, a PT mini or nano with a tuner and a delay pedal, and two cables. I'm really impressed - and a little disappointed I didn't give this amp a more thorough try out initially. Wow! Not going anywhere now.

So far my experience with all my Zs is that you have to spend some time with them to really get a feel for how the controls interact and how sensitive the front end is to how much signal you feed it from the guitar.

I have had mine quite awhile now and it seems the longer I play it the more subtle adjustments made create many nuances of its core tone. The combination of amp adjustment paired with guitar volume roll off create numerous settings according to what music I'm playing and saturation levels I need.
My fav territory of the amp/guitar is the edge of break up to mid gain saturation. Contrary to what many may have experienced with cleans is I have learned how to get a "clean" clean from it that chimes yet is round and rich. This small wattage amp "sounds" big. The sound field is wide.
