Both are great amps. The Mini Plex does the Marshall thing VERY well. The ghia will do a whole lot more. From 9-12 it has some of the best clean sparkle sounds I've ever heard. You can't go wrong with either. The ghia will be more versitile.

It depends on what you want. If your looking for Marshall Plexi, then I think you gotta look at the Fargen. I've never heard anything bad about his amps and Myles has him posted under The Worlds Best Amps section over at GAB. You should play both. Maybe you can use the CG for sparkly cleans and find a pedal that takes the amp to Plexi territory. It just depends on how serious you are about having THE Plexi tone, if that's what your after. And, you also have to think about clean headroom VS. gain. If your looking for early breakup or not, and which one gets there at the appropriate volume for your personal needs. Food for thought. Good Luck!

I think they are both cool amps but the Miniplex to me is more of a recording tool whereas the Carmen Ghia is super in the studio but also a super live playing amp. If you want something that is stellar multi purpose then I'd go with the Carmen Ghia.
