Hello, I am looking for a UNIQUE drive pedal. I want one that has 2 sides to it. One side would give me a clean boost that wont colour my sound much like the Xotic RC Boost and the other side for a little more gain that again wont colour my sound too much. I play blues through Strats and Tele's and use a Maz38. I am happy with the sound and tone I currently have and dont want to colour it when addint a drive pedal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The FD2 on the "comp cut" mode might be what you seek, but try before you buy....

I've gotta say, I heard the KoT at the Overdive Shootout online. harryj.net/OD_Shootout2.htmand was most impressed. From the sound samples, (IMHO of course) it was the best by head and shoulders over the others and there were some very good pedals there (Eternity, Tim, BB, Zen,etc.). Got on the list right away. With that said, why do the two pedals have to be in the same box? I'd go with a good boost pedal you like and a good OD pedal you like. More versatile. |

Or this: www.fulltone.com/stpframe.htmlIt does everything from boost to metal. Haven't heard it yet, but I really like the Fuller pedals. Agree about the FD 2. I have one, and the comp cut gives nice boost, and OD when you kick in the other switch. Get the Mosfet version if they still make it. I also have a Hermida Mosferatu that has been modded with a 3 way switch, for symmetrical, assymetrical, and comp cut/boost modes. Any pedal modder can do that for you. If you have one already, try Greg Djerrhian in Montreal (I think I mentioned him before). Honest guy. BTW I really dig the sound of the Hermida pedals, but the internal wiring was really poor, after about 2-3 years it needed a complete rewiring. I tink it is better now, but if you buy a used one, try it first. |

GRISTLE KING!! would be a great choice for what your wanting... I've got one and use the Boost side ( Luxury Drive side) more than the OD side ( DGTM side).... but it's ONE pedal like your talkin about... is only 250.00 bucks. and sounds great great great with my Maz JR or my Maz 38... or really ANY Z... Real neat pedal. Jason |
