I am looking for my first delay pedal. I'm leaning toward a BOSS DD-6. There are a lot of them on ebay. Why are there so many for sale? How are these things? Why so many for sale?
I playing an LP and Strat through a MAZ Jr. I've always played clean, but I'm with a new band (classic rock) and I want to add some effects.

i am not too familiar with the digital delay pedals. i use an early 80's Ibanez AD9 analog delay and absolutely love it. in general i would advocate for analog over digital, but you should get whatever sounds good to your ear. as a side note, if you want to achieve self-oscillation with the delay pedal you are not going to get that effect with a digital delay.

I owned one, it doesn't sound bad but the problem is this: If you don't need a TAP TEMPO unit, for that price, you can choose another digital delay. If you NEED that feature this unit isn't very useful because you have to step once to turn it on. But then you don't have it in tap tempo mode, to engage this function you have to step again, keeping down for two second. And when you are on stage all this is too complicated to manage... This was my experience
