Hey Guys,
I was looking at an older version of the Xotic AC Booster, the one with the LED in the middle of the box, not between the gain and Treb knobs. I think I read somewhere that the 2 versions are voiced slightly different, one has more grit than the other.
Has anyone tried both, or has anyone done a side by side comparison? Any comments?
Thanks

Have both, the newer one is more open. This may or may not be better. Eric Johnson has an old one in his rig and he's got dog ears. So who knows. You need to try them. I personally don't use either at the moment.

The older units had some problems with the stomp button. I read somewhere that the switch was cheap and were going bad. I have the older units and they have been great. Not sure about the tone change.

The BB was revoiced too at some time, supposedly the revoice took away some of the compression.

Good. If I want compressed, I'll use my FD2 mosfet.
I'm hoping to pickup a couple Xotic boxes this summer-- after the new "big box"versions come out.
