Don't know what to think of this new guitar though? A telecaster suits him better i think.....

I really loved how they brought out Alabama to screw up the solo. Yee-haw the best guitar player on the radio is about to take a solo, so let's cheer for three old men which one of them is holding a Nickelodeon slime green guitar. The only thing that would have made it worse is if Brad would have gone into Alabama's timeless classic Elvira. Then Steven Tyler could have ran out on stage with a water gun full of that green Nickelodeon slime that he got from being on the Kids Choice Awards the night before and shot Brad for going along with a real crappy idea.

I thought it was ok....my wife recorded the show on PVR so most of it was hitting fast forward...most of the acts were a big disappointment in my opinion, I am sure in concert they would be better. But who am I to judge, I can't play like that. Oh and Dave, the Oak Ridge Boys sang "Elvira"...LOL!
Zac Brown, Reba and Sugarland were my faves....actually surprised that I enjoyed the Blake Shelton tune
Brad's tone was awesome even through my TV speakers....funny how the Ernie Ball sounded just like a tele

damn I new my youth would catch up to me one day. What I was 9 or 10 when that song came out? O-well, I don't mind blowing it like that. It makes my far fetched joke even funnier. The Oak Ridge Boys will be next years walk on yee-haw!
The other thread has a lot better vib to it. No, you can't see Brad's pretty face, hands, or gear, but you don't get the studio crowd applauding over Brads solo either.
So Brad only played one song?

That may be a Music Man guitar, but that tone is pure tele... can't tell by the footage, but I'd bet it's got a tele pickup configuration, or at least a tele bridge pickup, based on that tone.

Yeah that Elvira was an 80's country hit for sure...lol! Maybe they will appear on there next year... LOL "Giddy up a ooom papa ooom papa mow mow" ;D I think Brad only did the one tune. The other clip Jason posted was better no question.

Exactly, but you missed the "Heigh-ho Silver, away" part.
My aunt used to work at a AM country music station in the Bootheel of Mo. when that song came out.

There's a Z Lounge thread on just this subject! Seems it's really a Crook Tele "made" by MusicMan ;D www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=877525

I grew up in the Bootheel of Mo..where did she work? I'm wanting to say it was a AM station out of Sikeston. I was like 10 at the time and she is now dead. She and my grand parents lived in East Prairie. Grand Parents lived across the street from the guy who owned all those cars once owned by Elvis. He always had a couple of them on display at the Boomland in Charleston. DAVE

But WHICH Voodoo?? I've seen reports of the 60's Voodoo bridge, but then someone said they called Peter and he said it was the 50's (flat pole) bridge. Anybody know?

Kind of yer basic "she's a non-threatening country girl who doesn't want fancy stuff I can't afford, thank God," song, and it sounds like he's singing it in the wrong key for his voice (probably to accommodate the Alabama dudes), but some nice Tele tones (from the not-Tele) for sure.
