Let the countdown begin.....10 weeks estimated delivery.
And I got the Z Brake as well!!!!
Funny story....I told my wife about my desire to purchase this amp....she said "If your getting that I'm buying a bedroom set!"
I took that as a yes and went to the store and planked down my deposit to order it. Told her this afternoon and she didn't seem too impressed..... until I told her to go get the bedroom set!!!!
Frigging GAS just cost me a bedroom set!

Ben thanks for the input but I thought I was addressing jammers5!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe he thinks there's shipping cost to buy from another state. That's not true..It's nice to be loyal to the local store. But $200.00 more for taxes is alot .. Personally I think there should be a tax for Internet buying. That's 1/2 the trouble in the country right now. No-one is paying state taxes.. It's a natural inducement to buy out of state. I am guilty myself. I avoid Guitar center for accessories because of taxes. Usually on bigger ticket items shipping is free and no taxes.

Wondering why a 10 week wait. Usually when Doc gets in the production swing you wait about 30 days. At least that's what it's always been when I ordered an out of stock item from Z.. Of course the Wreck may take longer. Makes you wonder how many would have sold-if you didn't have to buy the speakers as well. As a Z Wreck Owner I sure hope Doc never changes that policy for this amp.

As a Z Wreck Owner I sure hope Doc never changes that policy for this amp. Even most shippers that offer free shipping within the US will charge full shipping to ship the item to Canada. A head and cab to be shipped to me from most places in the US, using a reasonably dependable shipper, is anywhere between $200 to $250 (I live in the same town as Jammer5). So, it is actally cheaper to order it locally in our case (unless a shop like Lauzon in Ottawa would ship the amp for MSRP, including shipping) Keith

Wondering why a 10 week wait. Usually when Doc gets in the production swing you wait about 30 days. At least that's what it's always been when I ordered an out of stock item from Z.. Of course the Wreck may take longer. Jammer5 ordered his amp from the same store that i ordered my three (3) Dr Z amps from. Every one I ordered took about 10 weeks. I'm not sure if it's due to the dealer (a national dealer in Canada) holding the orders until they got a sizable enough order so that they wouldn't be ordering 'one ofs", etc, but the 10 week quote is consistent with what I've experienced three times. I never could get an answer from them as to why a 10 week wait? I did ask Brent at the Z Shop once and even though I didn't get a response about that issue specifically, he alluded to the fact that they had 'tweaked' the order process with this particular retailer and the orders should not take as long. I just haven't ordered a Z amp since to know if it was any different. Jason (drzplayer) ordered his amp from the same national chain in Alberta. I'm not sure how long his took...but if memory serves me correct, it was a decent waiting period. Keith

That's to bad. Maybe you guys should defect - JK ..I guess we take for granted how easy things are for us. I've ordered a few things here and there from Canada. Nothing major -but don't remember paying extra because of it being from Canada. About the best thing to order out of Canada is Prescription Drugs for the elderly. My Mother-in-law takes a pill that's 1600.00 every 3 months in the states. It's 789.00 every 6 months from a Canadian Supplier.. Same pill .. Guess Musical equipment is different.. Best of luck..

Not a problem - only trying to help out another Canuck Z-Brother If Jammers doesn't mind waiting 10 weeks for an amp, that is totally fine with me The dealer I referred him too has been a Z dealer since 1998 and was the only dealer in Canada until mid-last year when Long&McQuade (big box national retail store - the Guitar Center of Canada if you will) and Boutique Tone, another great shop in Montreal. There will be shipping costs, that's a no brainer. But is $100 or so in shipping not worth 10 weeks of wait time! Not sure what you meant by Internet tax - here in Canada, it doesn't matter if you buy it online or in store - you will federal and provincial taxes or in some Provinces (not States) an harmonized sales taxes (13% here in Ontario). Anyways - my opinion of that national shop is, well, less than flattering to say the least. I'm sure that tehre are the some our there who feel about the local family run and operated shop since 1945 I go too, but to each its own right! I think I'll bow out gracefully from the discussion now before I get in trouble with the Mods for crossing the line about open discussion about a dealer!! Cheers Ben

Hi all: Thanks for letting me know there are some available for immediate purchase, however the 10 week wait is fine by me. I was going to wait until I raised the entire amount but at least this way I won't have to wait 4 months. (I have raised $2 grand so far and should have the rest of the money in a couple of months.) Plus, L&M offers in-house financing in case I am short and having an account already set up with them makes it convenient. Don't get me wrong, I love to support the "Mom and Pop" stores however the service I have received from Long and McQuade, Yorkville and Traynor (all owned by the same company) has been outstanding. Warranty issues have been handled in a way that pleasantly shocked me, their financing and payment plans have been convenient and they guys at the shop are treat me like a buddy, not a customer! From what I understand the order goes in from their Head Office and shipped to their distribution center ,they receive their orders in about 8 weeks. From there it is then shipped to the store. Hence 10 weeks. Sure it's gonna be a wait but I'll have it before I know it. I already have people asking to come over and try it out when I get it. Dr Z you need a sales rep in Newfoundland??? You guys (and gals?) in here have been great and have influenced my buying decision. I see a brand loyalty in here similar to Apple, Volkswagen etc - and that's a good thing! Thanks for taking time to reply to my posts, you'll see me around here for quite some time! Cheers everyone! J5

Actually, it has more to do with the size and value of the shipment. For example, anything that big (guitar & amps) has to go through customs as well. So, even though there will likely be no duty charges due to NAFTA, there will still be a charge for the broker service. My last head and cab that I ordered from the USA attracted a $90 charge just for brokerage. However, most times, smaller packages just flow straight through. Keith

I just have two things to add to this thread. 1) You're gonna LOVE the Z-Wreck. Worth the wait for sure. You know how it is... 10 weeks goes by faster as you get older! 2) Speaking of Canadian dealers, and for what it's worth, I know Jeremy at Boutique Tone personally and he is really a great guy. He and I have exchanged music related ideas and the like and I have really enjoyed his friendship. If I were in Canada, and didn't have my own store, he'd be my go to guy. Again, only for what it's worth...

2 weeks down, 8 to go!!!! Are those new colors (blue panels) on Brad Paisley's Wreck exclusive to him or will they be going into production I wonder? (Just curious, not that I want it or anything!)
C'mon guys, give me a little inspiration - any new Z Wreck videos floating around?
