tungsten...I think? i bought it yesterday...got it home and i then realized that it matched the z wreck perfectly...then plugged it in and was like, "sweet"..lol I was gonna buy a Dr.Z Stingray head and cab but changed my mind after playing...I realized then that the z wreck and maz 38 and my collection of pedals can cover a lot of different tones and sounds....but you can never have enough tele's! ha!
cheers!

Your Lucky to get that. From what I see on Fenders Website they are or already have phased out the American Deluxe in the Telecaster - Still have AD Strats. But no tele's. Does that still have the contoured back?

Agreed I love the American Deluxe teles with the body contours. Keith Hey Keith: I notice in the picture of your Z's you sent me you have a Tele (at least one!) what do you have? J5 Tele Plus American Deluxe Ash Tele Squier CV (upgraded pups) The Tele Plus is a 1996 model and is the precursor to the American Deluxe Teles. it has the same bindings and body contours. However, it has 3 pups (Lace Sensors). I actually call it a Strele I'm always looking for teles...I just love 'em. Actually, the day you ordered your 'Wreck i actually went by L&M to possibly buy an american Special tele they had on the wall, but it had sold a couple days prior. Whew, escaped there ! Keith

which one sounds better with your Z Wreck - this one or the 52 Hot Rod you just bought?

Looking at Fenders Web it appears the american deluxe in the Telecaster is no longer offered.

Keith, does the tele plus have the same appointments as the strat plus from that same era had? JD I don't think so. I believe the Strat Plus has a 'roller nut' The Tele Plus (like mine with the 3 single coils) has a mini-toggle that gives you additional pup combinations ove and above the 5-way switch. Keith

Keith Purdy pic!! The roller nut was what I was curious about. Didn't know how that would go over on a tele. Thanks for the info! JD
