So, I am at Willcutt Music again today for the second time sitting down with the Z Wreck. I was contemplating pulling the trigger and I'm told it was sold earlier in the day. No biggie, they have two more coming soon. My question is for those of you that have spent alot more quality time with this amp. I have a Mazerati V1, Remedy, and Maz Jr currently. I've had a Stingray and RxES. I've loved them all in their own way. I am thinking about selling the Remedy head and cab and buying the Z Wreck, I'd keep the Mazerati. Would that be crazy of me? Should I just add a StangRay to my little family here and call it a day? Wouldn't that cover most of the ground of the Wreck? OR, would the Z-Wreck cover the ground, and then some, of my existing rigs? Does it take pedals well? Maybe a Wampler PlexiDrive to cure the Remedy jones I'd have, or an RC Booster and Zendrive on it to give me some punchy dirt like the Mazerati? All I know is the Z Wreck is seriously growing on me. I wasn't totally blown away the first time I sat down with it, and now I am jonesing. What to do, what to do...

Considering your z's. I'd throw something different at you. Mazerati GT. It cleans up well and has great attack ... Even when rolled back on the guitar vol.

I guess it depends on the tone your looking for out of it and if your willing to carry two amps.

I would suggest that there is a difference between versatility and range. Multiple channels, effects loops, master volumes, and so forth do provide versatility, but almost always with a certain level of compromise. The Z Wreck is uncompromising in its sensitivity and responsiveness, but it nonetheless has a great deal of range. It may not do every trick, but it's no one trick pony.

I agree, no one trick pony at all. I was blown away by the responsiveness of the Wreck. I didn't even try any pedals, but I can't imagine you'd need much. I would be more apt to put a Zendrive or old Tube Screamer on it at low volumes rather than an attenuator, but other than that it needs nothing. I'm sold, done deal, just waiting for it to arrive ;D

Bought the wreck cause i wanted it...not "needed it"...my maz 38 with certain pedals stacks up to the z wreck quite well...my next z will be a stingray..or a mazerati...

the versatility of the Z-Wreck is in the hands of the player.
