Hey all, this is my first BYOC build. Turned out pretty good considering I had soldering iron problems (wasn't heating properly), had to strip and re-paint 4 times, couple of wrongly installed components ... etc. It was great fun and I'll definitelly do more as soon as the spring comes around since spray-painting in your basement is not recommended ... the whole house stank for a week and God knows how many brain cells I killed in the process ... ;D

Great looking box!
But how's the sound? I'm not familiar with the Large Beaver. Come on man! Out with the details on the sound / tone, blah blah blah.
Seriously though, nice job on the paint.

Yeah, it's a Big Muff triangle version clone. It's very quiet and sounds great ... if you like the Big Muff sound. Very thick, saturated and compressed. Does not have tons of volume on tap but quite enough. The tone control is quite usefull and there's plenty of gain/sustain. I'd say it sounds better then many booteek stuff I've tried. There's many simple mods available on the BYOC forum, I might try some.

I like the BYOC stuff - I have the BYOC Chorus and it works great. For the price and fun of building, they are really great pedals (IMO)

I think I'm going to build a Phaser. I've wanted that sound (I really want a vibe too) but I didn't want to pay a lot. Should be fun too!

For a Big Muff clone, that Large Beaver seems pretty small to me! Unles you count those really tiny Mini Muffs from the 70s.

The PCB is very neatly traced and designed and it sits on top of the 3 pots, that's why it all fits in a small enclosure. If you ever opened a Big Muff, you'd see that there was a lot of wasted space there. The BYOC stuff seems very well thought out.

Yeah I have a Sovtek Big Muff Pi (the green one), and the box is too big. There is a guy who rehouses pedals, mostly Boss stuff. I'll get him to do my CE-2 so I can get true bypass on it.
