I've got a Monza on-loan from a friend for the next 7 days. I've got a coupla EBMM guitars, a '339, SC245 and a Stratocaster. I've got a Z 210 and Z 112 cab. I've got regular speaker cable. I've got a Y-cable from PCNS.I've got a pair of 'Dragons and a Draconis. I've got a Deelay and a coupla other color-boxes with just enuff cables'n'stuff to string together a chain of ef-fex Where do I start? What should I do? Any helpful hints about dialin' in the Monza - aside from pluggin' the one end of the cable into the guitar and the other into the amp, turnin' on the power, ' flippin' the stand-by and crankin' it up and lettin' my freak-flag-fly ? cheers always, eh Joel

Make sure no one else is in the house for a long time. You don't want anyone to tell you to turn down and it will take a bit to get the smile off of your face.

the first day I had mine home Patty went out to run some errands, I cranked up the amp in the living room while she was gone. When she returned home she said she could hear me down the street . . . . . . . I said, "thank you"

Play around with some different speakers too. I've been running the Monza (now a head, formerly a 1x10 combo with RF) into a bright, clean EV and really liking the result with V set low and using Drive and Tone for change gain and EQ.

I've been running my Monza in a 1x12 with a V30 in it (in the closet of course) and have been digging that. I want to pull it out of these and run the combo and 1x12 together and see how that lights things up!

Send the family to your inlaws for a week, tell work you won't be in, lock the doors & piss off the neighbors. Most important fill the bathtub with beer and have fun.
Cheers Eh!

Impressions so far, Joel? We wanna know Monza is a lotta fire-power. In a good way ;D Clean to mean. Very much an amp where I find my guitar volume control gets a nice work-out. Really dig the way my EBMM guitars play/feel. Next favorite is the SC245. And, really diggin' it with the 210 Z cab (older style openback). Different feel/flavor than my other Z amps .... not sure if its my ears or what, but it doesn't have the same chime/presence as the '28, Remedy, Galaxie or Ghia And, it is a nice blonde with tan grill. Sweeet. Still got a few days left to fool around. Not sure it will be an easy goodbye ... cheers always, eh Joel

Well, Monza is a MonZter amp. ;D Unfortunately, it had to go back to its rightful owner. Though, the opportunity to try it out was a welcome one - at least to me. The sound committee (i.e. wife and kids) all thought it sounded good ... but too dang loud. P'raps they were right, but there were no noise complaints or cops showin' up at the door about the sounds I was making Favorite combination? Running the '57 Black Beauty straight in with the Z 210 and 112 cabs using the Y-cable. Lotsa bloom and thump. Lotsa drive and sustain. REally felt like I was able to lean-in on notes and hang-on for the ride. Truly more amp than I am player. Humbling. But oh so much fun ;D Made my other Z amps nervous ... but I gotta remember that I am fortunate to have what I got ..... the Monza will remain on the wish/lust list cheers always, eh Joel
