With a Ghia rated at 18+ watts (and I've heard when it's cranked, can kick out a bit more), is it too much for a Celestion Blue rated at 15 watts?
Anyone ever have any problems with this?

No, its perfectly OK. The Doc even endorses it. You won't have any problems, and it sounds GRRReat!

Could one of you Ghia/Blue guys answer this for me? I may be way off track but wouldn't a wound up Ghia and Blue pull a pretty good Brian May/Queen tone?

Hi Tas, how are things downunder? I can't get that sound out of the ghia (that's not to say it isn't possible). The preamp isn't voiced quite right. The attack and decay characteristics of the vox preamp are so distinctive (I was a keyboard/synth nut growing up, can you tell?). My Kingsley amp will do the top boost sound almost perfectly (it also has a single blue), but it is a vox based design. Kingsley OD clip #1

Jaye, A Ghia doesn't sound like "anything", but nuthin' Does a Ghia either ;D Truely it's own thing....a Jr will get really close to a VOX IMO. No worries though, they way you dig the 66 when you get a Ghia you'll be just as pleased. Same simple circuit Mojo baby "Z-Naticized.." too funny Bro !

I had a Weber Blue Dog clone (alnico) for a little bit- I perceived much less headroom, as the speaker gave it up really early. I wanted something that would be a little cleaner, so I put the ceramic C12MZ that came with the amp.
