Hi Gents! I have been enjoying my Rt66 together with my B.K. Butler Tube Driver (thanks again Tom). Yesterday I went out to "you tube" and listened to the Carl Martin Plexitone and was just floored. The way the Rt66 sucks in pedals I'm thinking the tube driver and Plexitone are going to cover all my needs from blues, classic/hard rock and early metal. Anyone using the Plexitone? Thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated. Merks.

DC here! A friend of mine does - he uses Strats and Les Pauls into a 50 watt Marshall top with a Marshall 4x12 cab. He has the Carl Martin De Layla echo as well and something else too from CM. I have the CM Hot Drive and Boost MK-III - the clean boost is awesome - completely clean. The drive is ok - but my Route66 soundscape seem to shrink a bit and it also changes the sound be softer too. Dont know what Marshall model it is or what kind of Celestions are in the cab. He sounds good with his gear - he always did - YMMV - lols Cheers: Dixiechicken!

I've got a plexitone that i was using for a while. It's a really nice pedal but i found, to my ears, it works a bit better with buckers than single coils. It's really a pretty versatile peal. It likes to be run loud but sounds really nice dimmed too and the boost is really nice and clear. It seemed to change my tone a little bit, but in a really nice way. it just kind of fattened it up a little bit. The only reason it's not on my board anymore is because i only use single coils and it just wasn't giving me the tone i was looking for. but if you're into ac/dc, van halen, balls to the wall rock it's a pretty sweet pedal.

I have one, its the only OD pedal I have after selling off all my others. Into a JTM-45 set on the verge of breakup it sounds like part of the amp, great Marshall tone. I went so far as to modify mine and put an effects loop between the OD section and the clean boost. I used it for a couple years and still really like it. It along with a Tube Screamer will give you a nice choice of OD tones.

I had one for a while and enjoyed the tone. I did find it to be a little too noisy with single coils but the tone was good.
A similar pedal I like even more is the Seymour Duncan Twin Tube Classic. That's probably the best dirt pedal I've ever used.
Peace, Eddie

Thanks for the feedback gentlemen I really appreciate it. I'm going to hit a couple of stores this weekend to see if one to take for a test drive.

I have a CM plexitone...think i'm gonna sell it. IMO it is not a great pedal, I have tried it in a lot of fenders and marshalls and dr.z maz 38. its a harsh pedal...it doesn't sound at all "plexi", i have other pedals on my board that just eat/chew it up and spit it out...lol My fave plexitone comes from a pedal i have called the"Flex Drive"...its made my Rockett pedals...there are tons of vids on youtube, check em out...i've listen to them all...but you really have to hear it in person...everyone i've ever shown this pedal to loved it and after they played thru it...they were like...wow!! Its the most plexi like flexible overdrive /distortion pedal i've played thru to date.. cheers!
