I'll be receiving a Boss CS-3 compressor in a few days.
I'm looking for a traditional country twang with it. Without me fiddling with it for hours/days....does anyone have experience with these? If so, could you send me your settings?
Thanks

Put the LEVEL & TONE knobs at 12:00: and the ATTACK & SUSTAIN knobs between 1:00 & 2:00. This seems to be the sweet spot for this pedal and is great for country! A couple of us have arrived at theses settings without comparing notes, so there must be something to it!

I got it and fired it up. I find I need to turn the Tone knob to about 2 or 2:30...but everything else was on. Thanks again.
But I'll be installing the Allum mods next week. Among other things, they're supposed to be higher fidelity with more presence and clarity.....we'll see. Boy I sure like purchasing the parts and instructions for $20 instead of my Line 6 DL4 mod that's costing me $100.
I'll report on that when I receive it back. (the DL4 that is) I just couldn't take that drop in volume any more.

Thanks for the Karma. I was glad to help. Let me know how the Allums mod on the CS 3 sounds, also the DL4, which I assume you sent to Keeley? I've still got my CS3, but am always interested in better tone/fidelity. I performed Monte's 808 mod on a Boss SD1 just for fun. It was fairly easy, and made an ok pedal a whole lot better. Really added alot of clarity.

Oops, yeah...the DL4 went to Keeley. The Allums parts should show up in the next day or so. One problem is that I probably won't have enough time with the original CS3 to remember what it sounds/feels like before the mods are installed.
I had a Boss SD-1 laying around. Purchased it new about a year ago for a REAL cheap price, but couldn't handle the loss of bass. I'll be getting an Allum mod for that pedal too. Says it's suppose to increase the bass. But the two Boss pedals are for rehearsal and jam type stuff. They will not find their way onto my regular gigging board. I'll be purchasing a true bypass compressor soon for that. (and the gigging board already has a Fulldrive II) I'm leaning towards the BBE Main Squeeze. Want a Keeley, but man they're expensive...even on Ebay.
