Hello; Beside my Frantone-Brooklyn-Overdrive I want to use my Proco Rat together with my G&L ASAT classic semi-hollow guitar and my MAZ Jr. The problem is, that I can´t use the pedal without lots of whistling. Do you have any suggestions how I could solve this problem? Just controlling the angle between guitar and amp is too difficult. ThanK you very much for your help!

Im assuming you have the original pickups in that ASAT...those are notorious for being microphonic(mine sure are). Some people say that wax-potting the pickups will help, some say that the ASAT pickups do not respond well to attempts at potting, others say that putting a thin film of wax under the bridgeplate will help(put wax under, install the brigdplate, then warm the bridgeplate just a little to help even out the wax underneath)...its a crapshoot really...you might try any or all of the above to see if it helps. Also, a thicker bridgeplate(like a Callaham) might help as well. I have taken no action on my ASAT to try to remedy the problem...but then again, I dont really play it anymore either. I just put up with it for several years though...it would only happen in very high volume situations.

Hello rcrecelius; so maybe it would be the better solution to replace the PUs....

Hello rcrecelius; so maybe it would be the better solution to replace the PUs.... well, yes that is another option...my suggestions were assuming you liked the ASAT pups, just that you wished they didnt squeal. I suggest www.amalfitanopickups.com if youre thinking youd rather replace the pups.
