It is so hard to tell exactly what it looks like in the limeted pics posted around here.
Is it bright? Like it really stands out form your other amps or things in the room.
Anyone have pics that weren't posted yet?

I gotta be honest with you Dave - I'm on the fence with that tolex. In my own little world of the should-have-been-outta-been, some days I would have preferred seeing this model come out with tolex in the beige/brown/darkershades color palette. Then the next day I'll find the silver to be totally great.

eagerly awaiting my z-wreck (maybe this week???), but had it been up to me, i'd have gone for something more boring looking than silver/wood grainy. i like to sneak in under the radar, but you show up with something that bling-y, you're kinda raising people's expectations about your playing talent. like higher than my abilities can support. sigh... still, eagerly awaiting...

IMHO, I think the wood grain (a cool feature) would look better with a different color tolex. Blonde/wood grain would be cool. Maybe the Doc will offer color options in the future.

I think it's cool looking, but then again, I'm more into the way an amp sounds and plays, then how it looks.....it doesn't bother me at all, and that is what sets it apart....

It's not the color that has me on the fence. I just wanted to know what you guys think of it now that it's been sitting around for a while.

I think we all are after how it sounds. But on the other hand if I'm gonna drop close $4,000 on a rig, I'd say that looks would come into play big time. Who you buy it if it was a light pink tone? I wouldn’t and am not afraid to say so. Dave – sorry to have derailed your original post intention.

Ben I have been derailed for a week now. A single song performance comming up with my son is taking a lot of space in my head. I worry about these type more than full shows. You know the one chance thing and trying to get a 5yr. old to understand how freestyle his drum part on the up of the cord progression, which by the way some times he nails, and then there is the idea of two songs tied into one. We have the songs, but the jams we can not work out here. So, yeah I'm not playing it safe and honestly a little scared. Lucky enough today at wok I wrote some lyrics to the original side of it.
Just interested in the color.

I've owned alot of AMPS .>Many have been Z's in every color. This is the first amp I bought, that without me asking. My wife said - You can put that in the front room if you want. That's nice looking. I have a Big Brick Fireplace thats earth toned in color. For some reason that Silver seems to have a slight Cameleon quality . It really doesn't change color but it blends in so well. I think the Grill cloth and Valance give it a very Neutral look. Only thing I miss - Metal corners. I would put some on, but don't want to lower the value any.
To be honest I never even thought about the colors when buying it. That's not what swayed me in either direction

I have to admit that I don't like the Z Wreck appearance: it looks funereal, gloomy. Sorry DOC ! It's just my opinion and not for that that I'll never buy one: I cannot afford it!

I think Classy conservative is a better choice of words. A color that would be as neutral for buyers as possible. He couldn't make it RED Maybe Black or tan : What looks like a funeral? It's an amp..I don't think pretty was what they were shooting for. I think Z for Zebra is what enters my mind. So doc has one guy out of 1000's who doesn't like the color. Can't please everyone - Close though. Fortunately we don't all like the same stuff. I think there's only 2 things most guys are on the same page with. Even that has difference's in opinion Sorry Ladies..

My wife said that the pics of it were dark also. That is why I started this thread in hopes to see some different pics. I like the silver alot when applied in the right ways. The Marshall Silver Jub. is not one of the great uses of the silver. The Fatsound listing has some great pics. www.fatsoundguitars.com/store/amps/dr-z/dr-z-amps.php

I guess, given its pedigree (Ken Fischer and Brad Paisley to name but two, and the nod towards Ken's Trainwreck, it had to be different and unique. It's certainly both of those in spades!!
I won't be getting one any day soon (finances, or lack of!), but being silver, even though it doesn't really float my boat visually, wouldn't put me off - it's ALL about tone IMHO.
Just my .02, for what it's worth ;D

I guess most of the people aren't very proud off them. If I had one I'd be posting all kinds of pics.

It's not bright or dark it's just in the middle. One thing I have noticed is someone knows what it is right off the bat because of the color.

While I don't think I've EVER "wanted" a quantum silver amp, there was no question about the Z Wreck. It's simply beautiful and I wouldn't want it any other color. Class act all the way! ....then there's the sound! ;D

it looks as if there is a tan with wood front z wreck on top of whatever the black amp is in this video... doc should most definitely release a head version... i would buy one.. im not buying one because i dont need anymore cabs...and the tan with natural wood color and no corner protectors is fantastic looking...much cooler than the silver Imo,... silver just kind of reminds me of the 80s for some reason.. or the delorian....yuck...killer sounding amp though...

I want a head too! In black to match my other Z. I can wait, it will happen...

I like the silver. To me, it's fun to have non-matching Z heads. Got black, blonde and silver. And a red 1x10 combo.

i must say though the combination of the Blue and Gold is totally killer judging form that video.... i would like to get myself a cab of that configuration... to use with my Xits Piper XS head.. i feel like the Xits gets pretty close to what the Z wreck is doing.. even though its not the same design.. its more of a Top Boost and normal channel ac30 esque grind machine...although the volume is starting to distort and fade a bit....could be the power tubes need changing? maybe the ef86...

Bottom Line it's an amp: Who really cares what color it is. So long as it's not Hot pink: or Purple .. I bought it based on the sound - nothing to do with color entered into my decision to purchase this amp.
