I want to replace my Guyatone Trem pedal with something better; true bypass, transparent & ect... I have a few Fulltone pedals and am pretty pleased with them so I am considering one of the pedal mentioned above. The problem is I have not been able to test them as I would like and have never gotten to A/B them. I have a MIJ Boss CE-2 so I have a decent chorus and I'm primarly interested in the Tremelo sounds. Any other Tremelo pedal suggestions are welcome, but $200-$250 is the top of my price range.

I've heard 'em both and if your looking for Tremelo then get the Supa Trem. I've got the Deja' Vibe and I love it, but I don't think it does trem as well as the Supa Trem. IMO of course. Jason

I liked my Supa Trem a lot---
when it was working:(
It died recently, and M. Fuller must be out on tour or something because I haven't rec'd a reply to either of my two emails asking what I should do with it.
Mine has enough miles on it to where I guess it needs a "rebuild" anyway.....
I have number 652, iirc.

Vibe is NOT trem. Two very different beasts. And the chorus on the "Univibe" is not really chorus. Vibrato uses pitch modulation. Trem is generally a square wave on/off on/off on/off.
Vibrato varies pitch. Tremolo varies volume.
I prefer the Demeter trem. Had the Fulltone, very good box but the foot print is very annoying on a small board.

Hey Lefty I looked on Demeters website and that pedal does look pretty nice also it would take up like 1/3 of the space the Fulltone would. I have one question, on the website he says he used Ry Cooder's Twin as a sound model for the pedal and all the Twins I've seen say Vibrato and that pedal is a Tremelo. Is someone just using the wrong term? Where did you get yours?

Fender always used the wrong term and it stuck. Tremolo is a variation in amplitude and vibrato is a variation in pitch. Fender's brown amps had kind of a phase shifty tremolo that was way cool but it took 3 tubes to do it so they stopped. Magnatones had true vibrato.

I have both the mini dejavibe and the supa-trem on my board.... Lefty is right... they are different... BUT if you are looking for a Temolo pedal the supa-trem is outstanding... I LOVE mine and you can switch between fast and slow trem speed with a button and hard/soft "wave"... I use mine ALOT... way more than the deja vibe... ( but when I usually use the dejavibe/ want more of a VIBE sound, I usually turn on both the dejavibe set FAST AND the supatrem set soft/slow to give a little more warble) the supa-trem is not that big really BUT it is shaped a little funny/ akward.... so you do need to have a pedal board arrangement that would accomodate it... ( it's longer but narrow... 6" wide but only 3 1/4" long) it's a great pedal I've never had any problems with.... Jason

Both pedals are great. They are two different animals. If you have some time, check out Pentavocal Trem made by Red Witch.I think they go for 229.95.You can find these at www.musictoy.com and www.fatsoundguitars.com . If you call Fat sound ,you can ask Stu what he thinks of Pentavocal Trem vs Supra trem.Good luck. dock66

Hey if ya want a really versatile pedal that operates in these realms, try a Mayer VooDoo Vibe ( full size version). It's a tweakers delight tho! It can be set for a really convincing Uni-vibe, Right down to adjusting it to mimick the random variences that existed between the originals, due to their poor matching and spec-ing of parts. AND it is also capable of a massive range trems, sine wave, triangle , square etc., but wait theres more, ginsu fans, it also does vibrato. All are very tweakable and sound great. Its only failing for me may be a plus for someone else, I do not generally like buffers, and his unit has a full time buffer. I suppose if you've got a lot goin on on your pedal board that might be the ticket tho!

I gotta second Lefty's plug for the Demeter Tremulator, if it's tremolo you're looking for. It's quiet and rich -- very organic and no popping. I've also got a Diaz Tremodillo which can be lovely (and has the double-speed option), but mostly just drives me nuts with its noise...
Adam over at Demeter's great to deal with, too.

My pic is the Ulbrick Wobble Tremolo. All the "cats" down here think it is the absolute bees knees. Very warm and dead quiet. My next pedal. My guess is around the $230 US. www.ulbricksound.com/default.asp?p=CR&id=7

My only niggle with the Demeter is I wish the LED flashed in sync with the pulse, it would make it so much easier to adjust the speed on the fly on a dark stage. I could probably figure it out, but I'd hate to ruin my Tremulator.
