I read a lot in the chorus pedal thread about Boss CE-2 pedals, and how people are refering to older ones by the label on the back and the color of the screw for the battery compartment.
Can anyone give a timeline of these? Example: what is the oldest to newest, what is the most valuable...things like that.
I purchased new in 1979, a MIJ black label (on bottom of unit, correct?) with a silver screw. They had only been making them for a year or two, so is my model one of the most vintage? Is it considered one of the best? Is it considered one of the most valuable? (not that I'm going to sell it, it sounds great)
Thanks for any information.

Analogman recently wrote a whole book about effects pedals. You might look on his site to see if there is any timeline info. www.analogman.com

gtrman3, yes, yours is the oldest
it goes (from my understanding):
MIJ black label, silver screw (yours) MIJ black label, plastic screw (the one i have) MIJ green label Taiwan green label
The green labels have different op amps, and sound a little thicker than the black ones which are a bit more transparent
