CBS did a profile of U2 Sunday. It included Edge demonstrating his effects switcher to Ed Bradley. For a few seconds it was the most guitar gear-specific thing I'd ever seen on network television. They threw us a bone! ;D

yeah that was funny, Ed B. "..err um what's that meatball sound like?.....what's that big muff?..." Looked like he was wanting to step on those patches himself..... of course Edge obliged him with the patches, pretty funny stuff.....

I have a Lovetone Meatball, and it sounds amazing! It's a voiced Wah, meaning that you can choose b/w 4 fixed filter frequencies. It's a envelope filter, Mu-tron like but better because of the filters, and it's a crazy noise maker, it turns your overdrives into fuzz-tones, and your distortions into earthquakes!
Tunes that feature the Meatball:
Radiohead Subterranean Homesick Alien, about 10 seconds in the high frequency whiny melody. Bloody Brilliant!
Morcheeba Who can you trust the opening envelop filter release, ambient swelling, as well as the main wah melody, stupid cool!
U2 all over the last 3 records, I think he uses it on Elevation but it's really hard to tell with the Edge as he actually owns everything! Still one of my favorite players.
Hope this helps,
Matt

I saw that... I don't think it was clear to the average viewer that the names were the names of the pedals and not just the name The Edge made up for that sound... pretty funny!
