I'm not happy with the range of OD tones I have at my disposal at present.
I own a TS9 ri (defacto world's first OD pedal) and a Tech 21XXL.
I hate the XXL-- the tone is "teen punk metalhead learning to play power chords", not me. (for the record, "me" is wannabe thirtysomething guitarist big into blues and latin/flamenco leads).
The TS9 is what it is-- decent overall, but not great. For the most part, I'm quite happy with it.
My past experience with Fulltone pedals leads me there first-- my Supatrem and Clyde Wah are exceptional pedals within their genre.
The sound clips on the Fulltone site don't help me much, as Fuller's site isn't that helpful, and his only demos of an FD2 are dripping with other fx that make it hard to hear. There's no demos of the MOSFET version, either.
Fuller's playing is good, but an encumbrance to me. His warbling (read: fast-- please ignore any negative connotation) vibrato makes it hard for me to hear the actual tones he has happening.
He says "dumble-like", or implies it, and I'd think this pedal could have a LOT of happening tones in it.
Anyone use it? I'd also take comments on the regular FD2...

I don't care for the regular FD2 at all. It's a tubescreamer with extra features and a higher price tag... some will disagree, but I could not find any tones that were more pleasing than with a standard tubescreamer.
I haven't tried the mosFET FD2... HOWEVER, I DIG mosFET designs... They're almost always very musical, and integrate well with your amps existing tones.
What about entertaining some sort of boost rather than an OD pedal? What amp are you using this stuff with?

Well, I went ahead and ordered the MOSFET.
It's going to be used with my Stang Ray (which will be here in two weeks!!!)
I agree that the regular FD was pretty much a TS in different clothes.
After talking to Stu for a while (fatsound), I felt good about the Mosfet.
I like the regular TS9, but want more flavors available than it gives.
Sounds like the FD mosfet will give me the TS stuff and a lot more as well.

OH, and I also don't feel I need a "booster" as my Mesa Preamp has a "solo" function. I can step on a footswtich and get the same tone just at higher level. This should work well with a non- master volume amp like the 'ray.
