I just got the email from Analogman to order a king of Tone pedal. I've been on the waiting list since July 2004. He shut down the order list shortly after that. With shipping it's $245.00. From the clips I've heard and what I've read it sounds like the kind of pedal i want to go with my Stang Ray. We'll see!

Hey Billy, if you were to decide you didn't like that KOT, I would gladly buy it from you. I have also heard good things about that OD.

Guys, I absolutely love my KOT v.2. I use it without fail on all my gigs and sessions. It's has all the good characteristics of a Tube Screamer, w/o most of the high mid hump. It's still there, mind you, but it wouldn't be a TS done better if some of that high mid info wasn't in there. It definitely likes my Groove Tubes Solo-O-Single better than my KT45, but just a little better. I'd love to have the v.4, I've had my KOT v.2 for a little under a year now, and have said at least once a gig I wish I had a separate gain and tone for each channel.
Enjoy your new KOT!!!!!
Matt

He's still selling versions 2 and 3, as well as version 4 which is what I ordered. I don't know if he's started a new waiting list or not. I hope to see it next week.

Not to put Analogman down but if I had people waiting for pedals I would consider some other business plan. I think he should sub out manufacturing of a generic version to sell for $100 and hand build a boutique version in house to sell for $250. I'm not in that business so I'm just talking thru my hat but I'd hate to not take in the cash flow that something like that could generate.

I got an email today from United States Post Office saying they tried to deliver it today to my office. RATS!! If I'd have received an email saying it was going to be delivered today I would have gone to the office and waited. The mailman knows it's a business so I'm sure they'll try again Monday.

Oh how I hate that extra wait time. I came home early from work one day on a Friday, the mailman had just put the note on the door. Monday was a holiday, so I jumped into my Jeep and drove around the neighborhood until I found the Mail truck. I was able to get my Memory Lane from him and had all weekend to try it out. Billy, you'll be playing through that KOT tomorrow!

Billy, I was reading your thread and decided to visit the Analogman web site out of curiosty. Well, I've got a Bi-Chorus coming now. This is exactly the kind of chorus I've been looking for and until now didn't even knew existed. That Bi-comp looks interesting too. Look forward to your KOT report.

Okay, I got it. It's a KEEPER. Keep this in mind about my descriptions, I'm using it for low gain.
Really the most natural sounding pedal I've ever heard. 2 channels. Both have Volume, Drive and Tone. The tone is more of a mild filtering. Not just a treble roll off. It's not completely neutral. Slight boost in mids, less very top and a little less low end. That's what I want so I'm happy. No fizziness at moderate, usable settings. With the Stang Ray set so it won't distort I've got the pedal sounding like the same amp but turned up to where it is distorting a bit. It has two channels . You can run them both at the same time but I'm not so into that. I'm just going to set them about the same but one with more drive and use them separately. It also has some dip switches inside. I haven't played with them yet. One is supposed to be for treble boost and the other lets you boost the drive. Recently I've tried a latest version of the Fulldrive, an Xotic BB, and of course old faithful, my Reverend Drivetrain. This pedal is the best yet. I'm laying off the Drivetrain. I liked the BB pretty good but not this much and HATED the Fulldrive.
The King of Tone is king at my house!

You can run both at the same time. There are dip switches inside to allow for much more gain. The www.analogman.com site can explain more. It's really a pretty good backstory about the pedal.

Nice! Congrats on the KoT. I've been waiting for mine for almost 2 years, so hopefully mine will be completed in a few months.
This is kind of a soapbox of mine, but Analog Mike's work is top shelf. I have a Bi-Comp and a Bi-Chorus, and both outshined every comparable product I tried. I'm getting ready to send my TS-808 reissue into him for a cool little True Vintage mod with a few extras.
Have fun with the KoT!

For you higher gain dudes I flipped the switches inside for more drive. It actually sounds quite Dumbley at high gain settings, to me. Still very smooth.

Sorry to hear you had such bad luck with the Fulldrive.
Was this the old FD, FD2, or Mosfet version?
I've a MOSFET on order, and hoping it is what I want. I've heard the MOSFET is a much nicer tone than the original FD.
The MOSFET goes for about the same price as the KOT, only the wait is weeks, not years.

The last Fulldrive I tried was the one that's candy apple red and the mosfet switch. It was nice on the clean boost but everything was unnatural and unusable. Bear in mind, if one guy doesn't like it but everyone else does, then you can't necessarily go by what he (me) says. I can't stand any Fulltone drive pedals. I just don't get it. I must be the crazy one so i don't know if you should listen to me.

Always listen to the crazy one, or you'll end up sounding just like the herd. JMO
