Anybody had one of these?? I'm thinking about getting a used one and I'm wondering what I can expect - especially you ghia owners that've tried one.
Gracias!

Good deal!! To me it was like a Tube Screamer with more gain.

Didn't care for the mid hump.

I'm using a current spec, 4 knob Blue Collar with my Stingray. I really like it with that amp. The tone and presence controls allow for allot of different flavors. It's very amp like with little compression for an OD pedal. I've compared it directly to a $280.00 Stampede SOV-1 and a Fulltone OCD. The Blue Collar has since replaced the SOV-1. The SOV-1 is a bit smoother & polite, while the BC is just slightly nastier sounding, but still gives great screaming lead tones. The OCD sounded like a toy compared to the SOV-1 or BC.
The BC has a color of it's own and you can get pretty good Robin Ford tones with it as well as some other stuff. I also compared it to the Menatone Howie (Dumble type pedal) and preferred the BC. OD pedals are VERY subjective and I would try-before-you-buy or get it with a return option. Pedalgeek.com & musictoyz.com are the only retailers I know of that allow returns on Menatone stuff. One in good shape is easy to sell if you buy used and don't like it.

Oh yeah! It's a keeper. Sweet tones from this thing. Kinda reminds me of my Emma Reeza but not as sterile sounding. Great for leads. That nice mid hump really makes the Ghia sit up and beg.

I compared the BC to the Emma Reeza back-to-back when I was at Truetone Music in Santa Monica back in March and I didn't think they sounded similar at all. The Emma sounded like a compressed, scooped mids metal type pedal to me. What version of the BC do you have?

It's the four knob version from '01. The presence knob reminds of the bias knob on the Emma in the way it effects the tone. They both have a similar gain structure to my ears but the Emma doesn't have any sort of mid hump. That's what makes it get lost in the mix. They're in the same box too..

i have #18 and it ROCKS! it's a 4 knob and sounds awesome. the TS comparison is way off as far as mine is concerned. i have played a couple of the newer versions and didn't like them as much. mine is sweet, beefy and plexolicious, w/ a nice sizzle and grind w/o too much compression. i add my old dyna comp for the push over the cliff. it's one of the best od's i've ever played though. though it's pretty gainy through my CG. i end up setting the gain real low, like @ 7-8 o'clock. but it sure makes the CG scream sweetly!
