I've had my Fulldrive II for a few months now and here's what I've discovered:
With humbuckers and Route 66...going for the old Marshall sound...Leave the Fulldrive on FM. It lets all the mids come through. With this setup, I never use the boost of the FDII
With single coil and MAZ jr....going for the twang....put the fulldrive on Comp Cut. It cuts the mids and accents the highs. With this setup, I can run the amp a little cleaner, then use the first section of the FDII set to boost only a little bit, mainly to add some sustain and a little bite. Good for solo where the tone is very similar to the original MAZ sound. Then use the boost button to get the real overdrive sustain sound.
I am really thrilled with the single coil/Maz Jr setup.

Can't agree with you more gtrman3!. I recently posted a thread on the FDII, and to my old ears it just sounds great in any of the 3 modes with any guitar or amp, at any volume, at any venue.
