Can the holy grail get small room or plate reverb sounds?
Is there any way to adjust the mix?

It has Hall, Spring, & flerb setting. You can get some small room sounds from the hall setting, but no plate sounds. The one and only knob on the holy grail is the mix control hard left is dry and hard right is wet. I have used mine for a few months now and I'm prety pleased. I do wish it had some plate sounds too but I find I leave it in spring mode 99% of the time. Mark

I always want a spring sound to come from the amp. Plate seems unnatural to me as an amp reverb, probably because of having Fender amps for so many years. Also the times I have used a plate sound live it seems to get lost and I can't hear it. Of course, a recording is a whole 'nuther thang.

I use the spring 100% of the time.

I just got a Holy Grail from the GC, but had to return it. When I turned the pedal on, I got a nasty hum. Tried different cablest etc... TUrns out the G.C. had sold it, took it back on return, never checked it out and then sold it to me. Everytime I say I'm never going back to the GC I do, and this is what happens. I'll go to my usual gear shop and get one.
Other than the loud hum, It sounded really sweet. I like the Flerb setting.

The Holy Grail seems to be very particular about what power supply you use. Some hum, some know the words. Be sure you have the power supply that comes with them new and in the box.

It had the original E.H. power supply in the box. I'm guessing it was originally returned due to an issue.

Ok, just picked up HG #2. It's probably the nicest verb I've ever heard. But it's going back to the store. Returning it....
I have two main issues.
1. It's not true by-pass. When I turn the pedal off, it changes the tone of the amp. When I turn the pedal back on... it's fine.
2. When on it makes a his noise. Sounds like a needle on a record. (for us older folks who remember what records are).
My Boss RV-3 Pedal kicks it's butt. Too bad Boss doesn't make this pedal any more.

I tried my Holy Grail in the effects loop of my Stang Ray. Worked great. I used a one spot for power and no hum. Also didn't change the tone of the amp at all. Sounds better than the reverb in my Maz 38 sr with reverb.

HOLY GRAIL UPDATE! It DOES cut the volume. Sound is very good but it cuts the overall volume about the same as going from the high input to the low input.

My HG sounds great in front of the Stang Ray. The Ray is clean enough that it never sounds like the reverb gets distorted, even with the amp all the way up.

AnalogMan sells the Holy Grail with a True Bypass mod. Apparently there's no upcharge any more because "some" are coming from the factory with True Bypass...Hate to not buy from the local boys, but I got a potential gig that's gonna need 'verb, and I do so very much hate The Noize...

I'd like to know if the Digitech Digiverb works in a loop. I know my Digitech delay cuts the tone thru my stang Ray loop.

I've heard of the original Reverbamate, but I was turned off by the dual output issue...naturally this was the next step.
This may mean that I do not need to get an Uncle Spot!

I like that the reverbamate is small enough to put in your accessory bag. It still may have the same volume and tone issues in a Z loop. You never know for sure until you try it.
