Hi Forks, I have just purchased a 4 knobs keeley comp. I would appriciate any comments and experience that you may have with this pedal vs the original 2 knobs version. From what I understand it is suppose to be more versitile than the 2 knobs version.I look forward to hearing from you soon.Thank you.

At the Dallas Vintage Guitar show I bought a 4 knob one from the Keeley booth. They goofed and quoted me the 2 knob price but they held the price so I got it for $200 with no sales tax! I got lucky on that. Honestly I'd have been just as happy with the 2 knob. I don't like too much knob twisting. the brochure explains what the other knobs do. I just turn the left lower knob to about 10:00 and the right lower knob to between 2:00 and all the way up. It's about as nice a sounding compressor as any I've ever checked into and I try most of them. Before this I had been using the little green Guyatone ST-2. It's an excellent compressor also. I really wouldn't say the Keeley is better, just different.

Your response was greatly appreciated,billyguitar.You lucked out there.I payed $240 for mine and I had to wait 4 weeks,but it is worth it.I had to do a little tweeking to get the right tone for my tele and strat to make it sound transparent. sustain:12 level:12 attack:9:30 trim:11:30
guitar->keeley comp->fd 2->boss mt2-bb->ac->boss dd5->rc->Framptone a/b switcher->A )stingray ->2x12 blues,B) rx es->2x122 z best.
the sound is out of this world.,from van halen,g3,to bw tone dependimg on the pedals using.
By the way,jgleaton had asked me to run 2 amps, a stingray and rx es together,so I tried like he asked.Man, the tone is phenomenal.You know what I am talking about,jgleaton.Thanks for asking me to run the two amps,jgleaton.That framptone A/B switcher is the most transparent i ever use .Five of us were jamming last weekend,we all love that switcher.
