My new Pedaltrain just arrived.
Do any Pedaltrain users have any advice? Things they've learned over time they'd like to share?

I just got hte PT Jr...again, this time with HS case...very cool. Now the hard part, what to put on it!! The PT boards are a no brainer, I prefer to put the fuzzy stuff on the board and the hook stuff on pedals.

I recommend 3M Dual Lock. Holds a million times better than Velcro & you need VERY little to get the job done. Use cable ties & cable tie mounts for a nice clean look.

I disagree, the velcro that is inlcuded works just perfect. The Dual lock doesn't cover the whole board, I've only found it in 1-1/2" strips.

I got my Dual Lock @ an industrial supply house. Maybe thats why mine works just fine in terms of coverage.

You might find it helpfull to take feet off of any pedals going on the board. I used 1' cable to connect my effects cause there is not enough room on the board to do a "straight" line. My order is back and forth as to allow access to all switches and knobs. I know this is not the best for fidelity but I use only 4-5 pedals including a tuner. Wal-mart has some perfect sized industrial velcro strips in their crafts section for $6. It's enough to do the whole board (medium sized PT) with the loops. And it's a b!tch to get off if you want to remove it. The trick is to use the sticky side of the velcro to help remove the leftover glue, and there will be alot of leftover glue. Then some mild solvent to remove some residue. Otherwise I really like the Pedal Train.

I realized I do have one useful bit of advice. When you're putting your velcro on the bottom of your stomp boxes, pay attention to how the labeling is done there. I bought a brand new Boss delay, immediatley put velcro on the bottom, then hated the delay. But when I tried to get the velcro off, it peeled off the paper label with serial number etc. So now I couldn't return the ugly turd. DAGNABBIT! If I had been paying attention, I wouldn't have stuck the velcro to a paper label.

+1 all feet and labels have to come off pedals, get some plastic ties to make everything nice and neat. I have the larger one in the road case , went to the local music store and talked one of my buds to order me a SKB gig bag for my pedal board, it fits perfect. the SKB effect board suxs but the bag is great for the Pedal Train

Thanks Bluz, I have the same PT. I found it used with no case and no velcro $24. So a $40 bag would be easy. I don't gig, yet. But I will need my rig to be mobile soon.

Two things I learned. 1st, I am conflicted. I want to play with just the tuner and the amp but cover to many styles. 2nd, I leave the wah off the board and run it into the first effect on the right side with a 12" or so line of George L. Keeping it off the Jr. saves a lot of space and allows me to postion the wah for a nice feel. A battery on a wah lasts forever so no big deal.
Oh yeah, I purchased the Pedaltrain solid case, rock solid, more than I need, should have saved the cash and purchased something cheaper (but most importantly lighter) on ebay.

That's what I do...what's the question? I had the Soft case for the Jr., and thought it was a little too light duty. It wouldn't stand on the side, not a lot of padding, zipper wasn't all that...the hardshell case will out live me and protect all my pedals and then some.
