Looking for a channel 2 for my Remedy in the form of a high gain monster. How does the Monza compare to my other option the SRZ? For a solo and high gain chord and ryph machine for the $ it seems the monza would be the way to go?

Just wanted to suggest that the Monza is a great alternative choice to the SRZ, but does not function in the more common gain/master volume way that the SRZ does. The Monza is just plain loud all the time...a great sound too though!
I think the SRZ is a bit more flexible, at least that was what I decided after some exhaustive back and forth and demoing at a local store.

Saved me a PM reply! As far as balls to the wall gained out licks and chords or ryphs how do the 2 compare?

I wouldn't call the SRZ a high gain monster. Don't know about the Monza.

I have the Monza and the 6545 (which is basically the SRZ 65 without the presence control). I agree while neither are high gain monsters - they can both do a fairly credible job especially if you add an OD to them. My preference is the SRZ which is more flexible (hard to get really clean Monza) and driven it can really be dirty. JMO Find a 6545 and give it a listen - really adds to flexibility at a price not much higher than the Monza

To get an idea of the gain on tap with the SRZ, just crank the Remedy to full volume. It does have similar amounts of gain IMO. Very similar tone also. Hey Jaguarguy, can you give a comparison on the distortion characteristics of the Monza vs SRZ. I have been curious about that. Thanks.

I know that I really like the growl I get out of my Monza, maybe Mike's 6545 needs to come visit my place for a while so I can get a real good side by side . . . . . . . . . Todd
