Well, I had my first chance to play this Z Wreck in a band setting last night - just a home rehearsal at low volume. Had the Wreck volume at about 1:30 and the Air Brake down to bedroom level with bass, drums and acoustic through the PA. The Wreck was awesome in every way, couldn't have asked for more. No pedals, just the guitar's volume knob. Great rhythm with the guitar backed off, and superb smooth creamy solos with the guitar cranked. And that played through my Z 1-12 cab with the Vintage 30 Celestion (that's the one I dissed when I first got it -sorry again, Jake - but now LOVE the sound of this cabinet with any of the Z heads)! I can do any gig with this rig! Couple gigs coming up next week and the week after. And I plan on using the 1-12 cause I'm an old guy and don't wanna carry no heavy gear around and it sounds so friggin' good who could ask for more so that's what I'm gonna do!
This amp is really quite incredible. Sweet, toney, versatile. I haven't really played any of my old previously beloved vintage amps since I started playing these Z's back in July. And since copping this Wreck, I've hardly played the other Z's I had acquired. One happy camper, here.

Very cool! What type of music does your band play?
My son is the real guitar player and it was really nice to lay back and listen to the amp as opposed to be trying to play and listen too.

Good report jj.... I haven't even thought to play my ZW through any other cab. I'll have to try that....but it sound so grand through the Wreck cab, I guess that's why I haven't thought of it!...lol Good luck with the gigs and look forward to your reports...and clips

That's great to hear James What kind of tonal differences do you hear using only the Vintage 30C vs the Wreck cab? Be sure to keep up posted after your nest few gigs at full volume Cheers Ben

Well, we're playing a bunch of original tunes that are rock/blues/country/roots influenced - not very specific, eh? Hey, we're old and played and listened to lots of music in our time, so naturally we blend genres. Then covers range all over the place from Dylan to Burrito Bros to Beatles to blues and old R&B. The 1—12 Vintage 30 cabinet is not as loud as the Wreck cab and has less lows, and distorts a bit more, but feels real smooth and is very pleasing. I also played through my other 1-12 also, which is loaded with a G3012H Celestion, and that one is louder and cleaner with more lows, but for the moment I like the Vintage 30 a bit more. Tastes change on a daily basis in some things.
