Okay, this might be a really dumb question... First, the background - I never really used many pedals, but have been acquiring some as of late. I finally just got a pedalboard (got sick of setting 'em up and tearing 'em down every time I play), and the pedals attach via the usual velcro method. Which leads me to my (dumb) question - what is one supposed to do with pedals like a Fulldrive 2, where there are rubber feet that raise it up higher than the velcro? Remove the rubber feet? I have a couple other pedals where the rubber feet are pretty well attached, making removing them somewhat problematic. Use some double sided foam tape to add some thickness to the velcro to get it past the feet? i'm thinking there's probably some really obvious answer that I'm missing, but i'll be danged if I can think of it.
What do y'all do?
Thanks! Dave

The ones that give me the most trouble are the ones that have an all rubber bottom - the Velcro doesn't seem to want to stick as well to rubber as to a painted box. But those stick on rubber feet have to go.

Remove the rubber feet and forget velcro. Use 3M Dual lock. MUCH better stuff.

With the FD2, I remove the screws from the rubber feet and then put the screws back in. With pedals like Boss pedals that have the rubber backing, I clean it well with Rubbing Alcohol or Naptha, and then cut the velcro to fit the rubber...works quite well.
I've used Dual Lock in the past, good stuff but $$! And they use an adhesive that is hard to remove.

I've used a hot glue gun as well if you don't want to pull the feet off. It will peel off later when you want to make changes. You can also put it on the glue side of the velcro if you want to use velcro to shim the velcro up to where it works for you.

Hey - thanks for the great suggestions. I'm not sure which of those I'm going to try yet. I'll play around, and see what works best.
Thanks!

Ya know, i've found that on many pedals i could use the Dual lock, and the two halves together are tall enough to clear many pedals rubber feet left on. The pedal does sit a little higher than with standard velcro, but shouldnt be an issue. Also you can use such a small amount of dual lock, the stuff HOLDS!!

I routinely use industrial Velcro. Its much better than the stock Velcro and holds very well to metal and to wood. I like it because, once you get it rolling off, it can be removed without leaving any residue. But, it does hold under extreme circumstances and while I don't recommend leaving anything in a car when its hot, it will not come off or get overly gooey when the temp. goes up. Rubber feet, Boss pedals, anything with soemthing on the bottom, take it off! I find that even if I sell a pedal, people like it when the Velcro is already attached.

where does one find either the 3M dual lock stuff or the industrial velcro? Staples? Home Depot? At this point, I think I'd like to try to attach the pedals without removing the feet - I still often play where I'll only use one pedal, and I'd like the flexibility to just pull it off the board and take it along w/o having to reattach feet.
Thanks!

Thanks! Dave The True Value Hardware store by me sells it cut to length from open roles they have on a spindle (just like buying rope). I've also seen it packaged in pre-cut lengths in Lowe's.

I bought my Dual Lock @ Grainger industrial supply in a large amount. I know that some places sell it by the inch.

I use industrial velcro and slab it onto the pedal with some gorilla glue. Works well especially for the bigger pedals. Sort of permanent if you know what I mean. All of my pedals have velcro on them, and hopefully the next person that buys them from me is using a pedal board as well.
