I'm contemplating getting an acoustic simulator to keep from packing a flat-top in addition to everything else all over this grand land....
Has anyone tried out the new AC-3? The older version - AC-2 - was nothing that I could use. I'm wondering if the 3 is useful..
And, if there are other good ones out there I'd like to know.. Thanks, KingB

I must have had the older one. It cut the volume too much for me. Maybe they fixed that.

FWIW, I saw a live Green Day concert on VH1 last month and their touring lead guitar player sounded AMAZING playing through whatever he had. He was playing an ES-335 through a wall of sound, and then CHING! He was playing an acoustic! I'm sure some tech was backstage pushing a footswitch on a stompbox. Maybe his gear is listed on their web page.

The stores I checked won't have the AC-3 for a couple more weeks. I will buy it sight unseen for use in a large ensemble, ie., not a critical application. Some say it's happier with single coils.
