Finally got my Ghia yesterday...(blonde)..Woooo Hooooo!!!..... Am I havin' fun.....HELL YES........I've been recording new stuff for the last 16 hours......I find myself channeling Page, Santana, the Rev. Billy G, Jimi, SRV.........I even found some Alex Lifeson and Al DiMeola in this thing....(so far)..... Plugged it into a 70's vintage Marshall 4x12....(Greenbacks)...I aint lookin' back ....Just a little twist of that purty cream colored knob labeled "TONE" and damn..........I can go anywhere I want.... ;D..The good DR meant what he said when he printed that 4 letter word above that pot..........."TONE.......TONE .......TONE to mofreakin' bone".....(It should say "Satisfaction").... .....Go on and shoot me now my Z bretheren........I can finally say I have found the Holy Grail.........My 4 decade long search for the perfect recording amp is at an end... Anybody wanna buy some vintage Marshall's and Fender's? I am a disciple of the Z-ness and I B LOVIN' it........ Rock on....Rock on........ ;D Thx DR Z for a superior product at a real world price.........

I know exactly where your coming from. I own a Ghia (blonde) with oxblood grill and white chicken head knobs to be precise. It's a great amp and I love it with my strat. It's great at home and doesn't annoy the neighbours and not a bad little gigging amp for small little blues gigs in a small bar/club either. Welcome to the club, I've had a couple of offers to sell now and just can't do it as I'd just want it back straight away. It can't cover everything but neither can anything else that has been invented. There are amps out there that suit Jazz, some for modern metal and outdoor stuff that shake the glass on tables and some with more knobs and channels you'd need a Phd in astro-physics to work out. But this little amp does what matters most in my opinion.
Its simple to use, has great tone and doesn't require biasing.
Just, follow these simple steps to tone nirvana.
1. Plug a lead into your Strat and plug that lead into the single input. 2. Adjust your volume to your liking. 3. Adjust your tone and play away.
Enjoy, I hope you love it as much as all of us Ghia owners do?
Keep on pickin'

Keep on pickin' groovergeorge I bought this amp (Ghia) for "recording" in my home studio......I own several 100 watt monsters, and more than 1 30+ watt so-called "low power" tube amps....(Mesa Lonestar Special (which I thought was gonna be the "GRAIL"...$1600......NOT.....Peavey Delta Blues (Tone Tubby re-coned JBL 15" 130)..(killer little amp but it just aint it).....Carr Mercury.......etc......But none of them gave me the "Feel" that I'm gettin' from the Ghia........So far, I'm in love man......I know this thing won't hang at a large gig, but.....for reoding my original blues/rock stuff.........I think it's gonna be the shits....... .. Thx for your feedback Groover....... You're ACES w/me......... Trock.....

rock on trock! The Ghia sure is easy to dial in. Wish I had a 4x12 w/ Greenies to try - bet it sounds cool. Record us some sounds if you get time.

Yeah, the Ghia has a certain way of grabbing your heart and soul and not letting go. I remember when I bought my Maz, and about a 6 months later I went back to the store and tried a CG. I was blown away. So now I own both and am very happy.
The toughest decision is which one to start jamming on. I usually start with the Maz and end up with the Ghia. Maz is definately good for that vintage Marshall heavy thing. The Ghia is for when you want to twang on the tele or get bluezy with strat.
Congrats. You've achieved pure "TONE". :-)

Looks like your having a ball with that Ghia, Trock' Glad to hear it. I absolutely love mine. Don't expect it to be the one and only though. I think that Gold Top would kill it through a Z-28. I'm a bad influence here, I'm not helping out your G.A.S by encouraging you to add another model to your arsenal now am I?

Yeah brother...You 'aint helpin' me save no money fo' sho'.... This time next year...I will be da "Z" man......Folks will comin' from all over redneckville...(my home town) to record with my stuff.... ;D

The Ghia is indeed a fantastic amp... I love the tone, sustain, and touch sensitive response

When Doc designed the Carmen Ghia, he must have had the player in mind. Not too many amplifier manufacturers think of the players' interaction with the amp. It is truly touch sensitive and becomes an extension of the instrument itself.

Only odd thing is that I think humbuckers are not as good with an attenuator as a strat is. My esp has a JB and duncan jazz and that's amazing Brett
