Hey all,
just a little FYI on two new pedals I got.
Diamond Fireburst - WOW!!! No idea why they call it a "fuzz". This is a fire-breathing high-gain distortion pedal I have been looking for all my life. Why aren't more people buying these is beyond me. The mid-boost is NOT your typical 2nd gain stage but a completely different sound. With it off it does have a "fuzz" type sound I guess, but it's the smoothest fuzz I have ever heard. Once you kick in the Mid-Boost the distortion completely changes it's characteristic and becomes super-saturated and tight ... I mean: WOW!!! My wife was with me and even she was like: "You're getting THAT one!" The build quality is phenomenal ... even the screws on the bottom match the red paint and the PCB inside is red as well ... all the components are top notch and laid out with surgical precision.
My second purchase was supposed to be Catalinbread SuperCharged Overdrive that I have been reading good things about, but I was not that impressed once it was plugged in ... it sounded good, just not what I was looking for. Tried a few more things which were pretty good (SubDecay Flying Tomato, Cusack Screamer Fuzz which was amazing ... etc.) but walked away with Pedalworx McFuzz Hot which is awesome ... I'm not fuzz guy, not that I don't like the sound, just don't have a use for it in the style I play, but McFuzz Hot was great and I'll definitely find a use for it. I tried Fuzz Factory in the studio once and found it just way over the top for what I needed. McFuzz Hot was perfect.
Now if I could just decide what to kick off my pedalboard ... maybe I need a bigger pedalboard, now there's an idea!
