Has anyone had a slight rattle/buzz in the 5Y3 tube when playing bass heavy notes?
I dont think the tube is bad, it just has a slight buzz that goes away if you touch the tube after you hit the note.
Do they make dampers for the 5Y3?
Thanks!!

They make dampers (tube depot has em) usually the size for 6V6 will work, but it is probably cheaper to buy a new one. Even the NOS ones are usually 15 or less. Keep the rattler as a spare.
5Y3's don't rattle quite as often as EL84's, so odds are you'll get a good one.

Johnny,
The EL84's already have dampers on them.
The 5Y3 tube is the culprit but I found the dampers for that tube within the link you sent.
Thanks for the information, I appreciate it.

Coincidentally, every 5y3 i've bought/ mail ordered have have some filament rattle. I've just come to expect it now. That included two NOS Mazdas and a new Sovtek.

Silicone rings worked perfectly. 3 on the 5Y3 stopped all of the audible rattle.
